I don't think I'd go that far but I do always wonder why the excuse/explanation that we were relegated and the whole attitude of the club was a mess and that takes time to correct is used to defend Bruce after 11 months but didn't apply to RDM after 3 when he was tasked with the worst of dealing with that.  On top of that the 3 best players under Bruce (Chester, Jedi and Kodjia) were RDM signings that he got about 5 games with.

I think it's pretty obvious that Bruce will fail now. He is incapable of getting us to be the dominant side we should be. We're not a team who should be desperately trying to nick a win. The players we have mean we should be playing with a swagger and teams should be desparately trying to hang on against us. It's pathetic as it is at the moment.

Another season in the 2nd Division over promotion?

If it means eventually going up and staying up. Yes.

I question whether we could afford to strengthen this squad sufficiently to stay up if we get promoted, without putting us into a dangerous financial position.

It seems that every game in the foreseeable future could be his last unless the unthinkable happens and we start to put a run of wins together. I have seen nothing that even hints that this is a possibility, so we have yet another manager that is performing under the pressure of imminent dismissal, not good is it.

Another year in the Championship would be more ruinous I reckon.  We're treading on thin ice where FFP is concerned anyway, and I'd be surprised that with the sorts of contracts that the likes of McCormack and Hogan will be on that the loss of parachute money wouldn't seriously hurt us.  At least if you go up, you get a massive increase in income, and can plan wages and player acquisition expenditure accordingly.  That's a lot harder to do when you're contracted to pay player salaries for three years, but then face a massive drop in income.

I think that Bruce will be banking on an uplift in form when Kodjia and Jedinak return, and will have stated this case quite strongly to the powers that be.

He's now got to put together a string of results that Newcastle did after their shit start next year, and that will all depend on getting Kodjia and Jedinak back and playing ASAP, otherwise our season could be over by the time the clocks go back.

With all of those players at his disposable I would hate for Kodjia to come in before he is actually ready and in any way bail this waster out. It would be the ultimate papering over the cracks.

Oh great. Now even RDM was better than Bruce

close your eyes and open the telephone directory at any random page, point your finger down anywhere on that page open your eyes  and that is the name of the person who is better than Bruce

I've just tried that, some bloke called Mr T.Gillet.Sherwood. Shall I give him a call?

It will be just our luck and mismanagement if Kodjia aggravates his injury and is out till Christmas and our season over.

He'll score some goals, Bruce will declare we were all wankers for panicking and then Kodjia will tear his quad. Inevitably we'll be back to let's see if we can get lucky and grab a point eye bleeding football.

I honestly can't see what Jedinak will bring to improve us dramatically other than an extra bit of physicality.  He has a point with Kodjia, but the claims about Jedinak are a little tenuous.

Or in other words, 'you've given me all this money to spend and I'm still desperately reliant on two signings made by my predecessor.'

Jedinak is truly brilliant in the air and because of that neither of the central defenders have to come out and win the ball in the air which will do a lot to fix our shape because Terry doesn't want to do it and Chester isn't physically suited to being a dominating defender.
