You give time to managers who are trying to build something.  Bruce was brought in to throw something together quickly to get promotion.  Having failed last season, he has again tried to throw something together this season.

Failure again will mean that we have wasted two seasons and a lot of money.  At some point the club has to stop looking for a short term solution.  Bruce has never been a manager to build anything long term as he has always been at clubs where this has not really been possible.

This is what I don't understand, surely even he knows that if he has a poor September he will be sacked. So why set us up at home to Brentford like the away side and let them dictate the game? I'd have a go and think I'm going to go down fighting at least. Throw the shackles off and play some attacking football for christ sake. Surely he also realises that his negative, cowardly football isn't going to get the fans on his side?

I agree he had to try to throw something together last season. I don't think with the knowledge he gained of the squad last season and the time and money he had in the close season gives him any excuses for where we are now.

He doesn't do it because it just not in his make up to do so.
I said in the close season that we need to get rid in the summer in readiness for the new season because this bloke was not going to undergo some sort of footballing epiphany and come back reborn as a forward thinking, progressive manager.

What we saw last season is what we will get this season.

This is as good as it gets.

Everything even vaguely original has been said many, many times. So enough to say: I agree with Rich wholeheartedly and "Out!"

Either Bruce gets it right or he's sacked and the new bloke has us promoted. Fret not brothers.

Its just a matter of time now. We are well past Bruce turning it round - yesterday was abject on almost every single level, and he has absolutely no excuse. We are so far away from a team that is going to get anywhere near promotion.

But the next appointment really is do or die because fail again, and we will begin to see Tony go the same way as Lerner - he wont keep bank rolling it, and with our better players snapped up by others, good players unwilling to come, and fans seeping ever further out the door, its a vortex than just gets worse and worse.

the problem is we have as a fan base been battered, bruised and abused over the years and become conditioned to accept crap, crap managers crap football etc

that's why we say 'who can do better' 'who will come to sort this mess out' and we forget who and what we are and think the likes of Steve Bruce and his shitball is doing us a big favour

we have become the footballing equivalent of that Reek fella in Game of Thrones

Well we have about as much balls as he has.

Not the best analogy considering his character arc.

I think it's pretty spot on.  Not sure where fingering his sister fits in, but other than that, pretty apt.

So you expect Bruce to shed his cloak and come out fighting. Fair dinkum.

No in the analogy Bruce isn't Theon, we are. Bruce is Ramsay Bolton.
