Just been having a discussion with a lad I know who genuinely thinks we weren't negative yesterday and the fans are all fickle.

We set out to attack and should have been two up at half time.

I could only think his seat in the Holte faces out towards the M6.

Said in a "Bruce Buffer" type way!

Fortunately I did something enjoyable with my day yesterday so didn't see any of the football. It strikes me that the Norwich game is this season's Rotherham game, constantly referenced as an example that we do play well once in a blue moon. I don't know if sacking the manager will be a positive move, recent experience would suggest not. However, he has zero credit in the bank right now so can fuck off.

Bruce is the latest manager unable to get a team to perform the basics consistently to a pre-arranged and practiced plan. His additional problem is he's gutless and terrified of losing. We've also added a couple of well paid has been's to our collection as well as squandered the talents of players who previously did good things at previous clubs.

Bruce has had enough time to prove the job is beyond him.

I think the problem is we are executing his plan, just failing to nick a goal in his eyes.

It's sub McLeishien turgid bollocks of the lowest order and I'll happily fly over to escort him from Bodymoor Heath if it means we've got a competent replacement lined up.

You need to disown plonks in your life. He is a good example as any.

Given how important pace and fitness are in the modern game, why have we adopted a policy of signing overweight Scots deep-fried mars bar aficionados?

You could, just about, justify his tactics if we were a division above and expected to struggle... setting up to get draws and maybe sneak a win might well be ample of we ever return to the top flight, in the short-term, at least.

Doing it when you are trying to finish top two is utterly ludicrous. You can't shitfest your way to promotion.

I was thinking the same yesterday, and in both cases it could be argued it was as much piss poor opposition making us look good as us playing well.  Has there been even one full match under Bruce where you can say we played well the whole game, even Norwich?  Maybe Brighton away or was that just one half?  If not that's pretty damning given the cost of the squad and the number of games he's had.

The media don't seem to be picking up on how crap he is doing.
They don't care about us we are no longer relevant in English football.

The most annoying thing about the Norwich game is that Bruce followed it up by changing things for no good fucking reason thus instantly removing the feel good factor that we had finally found. The man's a footballing dinosaur.

Wasn't the 3-0 Rotherham mauling under RDM?

He seems to say that every bad game. Which is often. He's lost.

The players have to shoulder some of the blame today as a good 7 or 8 of them were below par today.  Steve Bruce just doesn't seem to have any ideas on how to change things when it's not going well and his substitutions today just seemed poorly thought out.

The evidence is becoming more and more damning on whether he is the man to take us forward.
The main role of the manager on match day is to ensure that psychologically there are no below-par players on the pitch.

Agree, but sometimes the manager is a bit powerless when players go out and have a shocker.  Ideally you want 7 or 8 good performances which means you're likely to get a good performance and probably a positive result.  If like yesterday, you have 7 or 8 poor performances with a couple of shockers thrown in then you get that kind of rubbish.
The problem is that his Villa teams consistently under perform and the one constant is the manager.
6 out of 18 points.

Yes I think

Yes but I took it that MV meant it's no more evidence that Bruce has got something going than the Rotherham game was for RDM.

If you get bossed by Brentford at home with no clue how to break them down, if you have players that look disinterested and can't pass the ball to a player with the same coloured shirt and if it's obvious to every Villa fan leaving Villa Park yesterday, that you have no idea how to improve or change the playing style then you deserve your cards and told to do one.

Dead man walking.
