You should have joined us John.  We were in a caravan on the lorry park.  It was like a preview of an episode of Father Ted. Me, my two sons, my daughter's future husband and a mad Welshman.

Ships that piss in the night as they would say in Allo Allo.

So to summarise, after 353 pages of debate you are either:

In the out camp because after c40 games you can't see any real progress

In the in camp because after c40 games you think it will suddenly click and we will go on to promotion.

So ask yourself, what is the more probable outcome?

You've only really listed one outcome there. Surely it should be We don't maintain our improved performances and Bruce gets the sack ,or we click and go on to promotion

Well i'm sorry if it goes against the grain but all the Bruce is the man to get us back into the premiership as you only have to look at his past record is bollocks.  Football has moved on and Bruce hasn't. Nice chap and all that but I don't want a nice chap who doesn't get us back into the premiership,  I just want a modern football manager who can take us back to where  we think we belong.....the answer to the manager we actually need is beyond me i'm afraid. ...it all depends on who we could get but in my opinion Mr nice Steve Bruce won't do it for us

I've got to admit that I'm becoming less and less convinced that he is going to be able to take us up.  There doesn't really seem to be anything resembling a coherent approach whether it be his tactics or transfer policy.  He played at a very successful club, yet has only ever really managed smaller outfits who were constantly looking to punch above their weight.  I think that has probably installed a somewhat negative approach in him, the sort that results in being overly cautious at places like Bristol City.

He seems a good sort and of course I hope he can take us up, but he seems to be repeating the same mistakes quite frequently (tinkering with the formation, persisting with certain tactics that aren't working, making poor and unnecessary signings etc.).

I think most of us would settle for an away game at Newport Pagnell.
Didn't Adrian Mole work there for the Dept of Environment, recording newt movements in the early 90's?

I lost my bag in Newport Pagnell.

famous for 3 things

M1 services
oldest iron bridge in daily use
home of Aston Martin

sorry about your bag if it pops up I'll let you know

Awful crash on the motorway there at the weekend, 8 dead.

yes absolutely awful

you moved yet ?

Yep.  Currently available for pints.  Not at Newport Pagnell Services though.  We always used to get off there and sneak through the back exit when we drove back from holiday.

'Unconvincing Promotion'. What a great idea for the name of a band.

Wanting Bruce out is one thing, but then who would come in that would not mean we are in the same position again having the same debate? Is there an obvious stand out choice?
Only having half a solution is not really going to help.

Keeping something that is not working because there doesn't seem to be an obvious replacement is not a good argument for sticking with what you have got. Simple reason being that you will never get to where you want to be.
