Taking Davis off was madness.

He reminds me of a fat Steve McClaren. All smiles and positivity, talks a great game. Then you witness the grim reality on the pitch. A delusional chancer

Agreed - no issues with him taking Davis off as he'd put in a stint and was looking out of it. Hogan provided energy when he came on.

But why try 3 at the back tonight? It was so disjointed the first half it was almost like they hadn't even trained in that formation before.

I hate to say it, but I just can't see it working out under Bruce.

Ask the Manager.
You put in a decent performance at home and give the fans something to feel positive about.
So in the next league game do you.
A . Play the same way and tell the players to build from where they left off?
B. Tweak the team a bit but essentially play to the strengths of the previous league game.
C. Come up with a bat shit crazy formation that had not worked with the current team and then spend a lot of the game trying to recover from your stupid decision?

It takes some kind of fuckwit to decide on option C. Steve Bruce is a fuckwit.

Why would you change a winning team? if you are looking for cohesion and togetherness its the one thing you don't do. Good result last week but I still believe the size of the club and the magnitude of the task is beyond him.

Good question.
The only change needed was Bree for Hutton.
He is an idiot.

nothing is changing my mind that he has ten games to prove he's worth keeping - and the answer is obvious after five.

So far, 5 points out of 15 is a disapointing start but i  personally think we'll get better as the season progresses. I wouldnt be making any changes.

We'll have to get better, it's been a pretty poor start to the season again.

The reality is we managed a decent result away from home while not playing at all well. In the context of a long season in the championship its the type of result that gets you up. All this bobbins about "Villa shouldn't be happy with a draw away to Bristol city" is just that - bobbins. We're not entitled to turn up at any club in the championship and expect to win, however big we think we are or how much our squad is worth.

Having said that, I still think the only reason to have employed Bruce was to get us up last season. Any longer time period and you'd go for someone who could build an attractive team which doesn't require totally replacing when it gets to the premiership.  Not only do i doubt we'll go up this season, we're certainly not attractive to watch and frankly i think there's probably 3 or 4 potential premiership players in our squad at most. With completely average players costing 20-30m this summer i could only see us coming straight back down because Bruce is quite incapable of finding the players to keep us there.

The trouble is we are going to have to spend a lot of money when/if we go up because Brucie's Aged Pensioners (BAPs) will need replacing .
Unless we have a rich seam of youngsters coming along we will need to spend big on replacement BAPs
