Obviously it's an advantage being at home. However it doesn't alter the day and loads of shit teams have left VP victorious in cup competitions. Let's not forget we lost to the might of Leyton Orient at home that season.

I certainly enjoyed the day, but felt the reactions slightly over the top. We should always be beating shite like West Brom at home.

Not that we would now, obviously...

The Liverpool game was easily the best experience supporting Villa this decade, and arguably since 1996.

It wasnt the same after that drubbing down at Southampton.  It seem to kind of kill it.

I'm convinced the delph and beteke deals became known to the players that week. The fragile confidence fell apart after that.

Although with the QF, he was fortunate to be the first Villa manager since 1960 to get a home draw. We could easily have had days just as good, if not better, under previous managers with a bit more luck.

yeah that home draw did it

'Fortress Villa Park' teams tremble at the thought

Well, I fancy we'd have beaten shite like Oldham and West Ham there, for starters.

we must have the worst home record of any team in the top two divisions over the last 5 years

Agreed but I was talking about Quarter-Finals played over the last fifty-seven years.

ha ha yes as i was writing it i thought that

no wonder my lad says he doesn't want to suppprt Villa
he has low confidence and just gets to embarrassed to admit it to his school mates
it's the one thing I hate more than anything else about our current plight

Every season that passes with Villa in current state we are losing more and more youngsters to red and blue scum from Manchester and London..

Then so be it, if parents aren't strong enough traditionally, ethically then I don't want the little bastards near VP.

Apology is required for implied reference to john's lad as "little bastard".
