Remi Garde is not unemployed.  He is well respected in Europe and not the target of abuse and ridicule that was heaped on him here.

I'd call not having a job since he left us 15 months ago unemployed.

He was responsible for some ofbthe most limp and hopeless performances I've ever seen in football.

The bracketing of Remi Garde who kept Lyon in the top four of Ligue Un despite the club selling all its best players while teetering on the edge of bankruptcy from the building of a new stadium with Graham Turner who managed Shrewsbury is laughable.

I remember the clubs betrayal of Remi Garde very well. The transfer window of surrender was unforgivable. He got nothing to help stay up. in fact his brief seems to have been "get us down with little fuss".

It would be too early to consider we were bossing the league. It would be nice, but not massively important. The same way the start isnt acceptable, the fact we're 23rd after three games is neither here nor there.

The fact we're 23rd means we have eight points fewer than some teams, which if we're allegedly going to be competing with them could be rather important.

I know that you go to every match. From what you have seen, do you think Bruce can get us promoted this year?

I'm not going to be convinced being 1st, 23rd or where ever after 3 games is of any consequence. There are 43 games to go.

We know what we need and at the moment we have to hope this very small sample of 3 games is short term form or the manager will go and we will suffer for it.

Apart from we're talking about their time at Aston Villa. Garde was a crap Villa manager even if there were extenuating circumstances, his 13% win rate shows that.

As an example, Ross McCormack scored loads for everyone else, all we care about is he's a fat waster for Aston Villa.

Presided over, for sure, and takes a lot of the blame. However it is fair to say that that horror season had so many authors.

His league record was W2 D6 L12, a 10% win ratio. His last 6 league games were W0 D0 L6 F2 A18. It comes to something when even with that record he was probably only our 3rd worst manager that season.

24th now

So now every manager in the division has a better record than our promotion specialist.
Lose tomorrow and he is toast.

To be fair john, you've never given him a chance!

true enough but I've never kept that a secret either

if he had walked in through the door turned round and walked straight back out again it would have been to long for me

but he wasn't some young hopeful I knew exactly what we were getting and didn't want it

he has been worse than even i thought but even at the height of his powers when he was at Blues or Hull there was never one single second of one single day when I wished he was our manager

I know what I do not like and i don't like Bruce Football, tactics, signings, team set ups etc and that was before he came
Frankly I think he's a fucking rubbish manager who fans even when he's done well don't care when he leaves he's that bloody boring

he has no place at Aston Villa and should never have been appointed

but you are right enough Chris, I didn't give him a chance but he's done nothing to make me think again

You were right back then and you are right now.
Spot on, Bruce was the most uninspiring appointment in my time supporting Villa.

Eric Black is the only recent manager we have who I genuinely developed a dislike for (he maybe a perfectly fine human being personally but his public personality is what I am talking about). I dont like Bruce's football, I didnt like TSM's, but as people I thought they were fine.

Eric Black not only had us play crap he also went out of his way to let everyone know he thought the biggest problem he had was fans complaining, when all he wanted to do was get us nicely relegated and for us to shut the hell up.

I am still mad about it.
