In the Cardiff game , he had set the game up to use Elmo at every opportunity , so as soon as he went off injured he just had not got a clue what to do.  Elmo was his only plan , another reason he hadn't got a clue last night. its like he thinks Elmo is our savior to get us in the Prem.

According to a Hull ST holder I know Elmo is very good in the air with a prolific leap. As a result Bruce's tactics at Hull were for the keeper and full backs to regularly launch it 60 yards in Elmo's direction at hope for the best.

how depressing

Bruce should have been sacked in May. He's tactically clueless, unable to motivate his players and has failed to instil any semblance of a style of play. He's wasted millions on players that he has no idea how to use. He spent the summer courting John Terry, who's not only a loathsome twat but a twat who plays in the one position that didn't need attention, and in doing so he's stripped Chester of the captaincy which has affected his form, weakening our defence - so he's somehow managed to spend millions in the summer to make us worse. He's allowed arseholes like Agbonlahor and Richards back into the fold, which is a kick in the teeth to the fans who watched them strolling their way through our relegation season without a care in the world, and he's said that Alan Hutton "picks himself". Alan Fucking Hutton. The football is shit, the results are shit, Bruce has got more chance of winning a modelling contract than he has of leading Villa to promotion this season. He is a footballing dinosaur, I don't care what he's done in the past, he clearly, evidently, demonstrably can't do it any more. Worse still he's delusional, he's adopted Paul Bullshit Lambert's habit of treating the fans like fucking idiots with post-match comments that bear no resemblance to the match that we all just saw. We didn't deserve to lose to Reading, Steve? We fucking did, you pillock. We were shite, as we always are. We set out not to lose (not to win, there's a big difference) and we lost. 2-1 flattered us, massively. Bollocks, Steve. Utter horse shit. Four thousand fans travelled to watch that shambles tonight. They deserve so much better. To all Bruce's pundit mates who'll stick up for him and call Villa fans impatient for wanting him out now, this isn't just three matches. It's forty odd now. A full season's worth. And not one complete ninety minutes of competence. We can name a couple of random halves where we looked good. In a year. Millions spent. Millions. Bugger off Steve.
Spot on. If he really believes we deserved something out of last nights game he's either
A. Delusional
B. Lying to himself &the fans
C. Completely clueless about football
or D. Fucking mental.

He's got the best record since MON.

It just goes to show how utterly shit we've been and in all reality how desperate a situation we're in.

John Terry was a Steve Bruce loadsa money vanity signing. In a summer of austerity at Villa Park the last thing we needed was a 60k a week, 36 year old, Center back.

probably cheap enough for a player/manager though

Still can't get over starting a right back with 6 minutes have time since he had a year out with injury and then having 2 further right back on the bench. Just start Brew and have De Laet on the bench. To then bring on Hutton was a complete piss take of the situation. He's lost the plot big time.

Its the fault of the fans, poor Steve Bruce !! Have you heard the crap from pundits

Had the misfortune to catch a bit of Talkshite whilst driving back from Reading. That wanker Cundy and his sidekick laid into a Villa fan who said he wanted Bruce out. They were literally flabbergasted that anyone could even think such a thing.

it was the same with Lambert as well .   Villa fans knew he should have been gone probably a  season before but the media twats still kept sticking up for him. It's like they want Villa really to get deeper in the mire ,  like we do when we were gutted Zola was sacked.

Best record since MON in  lower league though. We'd have broken our own records for shiteness had Bruce been in charge of us in the Prem.

He seemed to be doing a decent job down in these parts - albeit as a coach -  before he jumped ship. Then again, BHA have a manager that knows what he's doing...
