I honestly felt it was the right appointment, a safe bet if you like. I can't believe how little impact he's had given the time and money he's spent.

If a supposed promotion expert cant turn this around i'm buggered if I know who to turn to next.  Everyone's a gamble from now on.

Same for me.

Ditto.
If we don't win Saturday, he should be booted out.

Bruce should have been sacked in May. He's tactically clueless, unable to motivate his players and has failed to instil any semblance of a style of play. He's wasted millions on players that he has no idea how to use. He spent the summer courting John Terry, who's not only a loathsome twat but a twat who plays in the one position that didn't need attention, and in doing so he's stripped Chester of the captaincy which has affected his form, weakening our defence - so he's somehow managed to spend millions in the summer to make us worse. He's allowed arseholes like Agbonlahor and Richards back into the fold, which is a kick in the teeth to the fans who watched them strolling their way through our relegation season without a care in the world, and he's said that Alan Hutton "picks himself". Alan Fucking Hutton. The football is shit, the results are shit, Bruce has got more chance of winning a modelling contract than he has of leading Villa to promotion this season. He is a footballing dinosaur, I don't care what he's done in the past, he clearly, evidently, demonstrably can't do it any more. Worse still he's delusional, he's adopted Paul Bullshit Lambert's habit of treating the fans like fucking idiots with post-match comments that bear no resemblance to the match that we all just saw. We didn't deserve to lose to Reading, Steve? We fucking did, you pillock. We were shite, as we always are. We set out not to lose (not to win, there's a big difference) and we lost. 2-1 flattered us, massively. Bollocks, Steve. Utter horse shit. Four thousand fans travelled to watch that shambles tonight. They deserve so much better. To all Bruce's pundit mates who'll stick up for him and call Villa fans impatient for wanting him out now, this isn't just three matches. It's forty odd now. A full season's worth. And not one complete ninety minutes of competence. We can name a couple of random halves where we looked good. In a year. Millions spent. Millions. Bugger off Steve.

Great stuff.

Hope Dr Tony and the board get to see it.

Kodjia is our best player and is badly missed. Sad indictment of the manager that he was given 12m on an alternative striker (Plan B) who dosen't score, frequently gets injured and we generally have so little threat with him upfront.

Next manager will at least have Kodjia back to fitness and that will make a difference as last season showed.

I'd say our best two proven championship players would be Kodjia and James Chester. Biggest worry for me is how much of a liability Chester has looked early doors and we know from last year he's a good defender at this level (and arguably a level higher) but he's been terrible alongside Terry so far.

In the Cardiff game , he had set the game up to use Elmo at every opportunity , so as soon as he went off injured he just had not got a clue what to do.  Elmo was his only plan , another reason he hadn't got a clue last night. its like he thinks Elmo is our savior to get us in the Prem.

The 'whether I will be given the chance' and 'I am the right man for the job' comments are his early pleas for his job. He's been around the block enough times to know when writing is on the wall.
Bruce has been saying those exact same lines for most of the year (usually after yet another piss poor result). He's been given sufficient resources (time and money) to make improvements in performances, results and style of play but has failed to do so.

Oh, and now I see he's come out with some nonsense about how the fans 'got carried away' with the 'euphoria' of signing Terry! Bloody hell, it's us lot who are delusional now apparently. We had the audacity to expect the side the compete with Cardiff and Reading, perhaps have the occasional shot or corner, simply because we signed one former England Captain. Nice bloke, had the backing of the fans, most of whom were supportive of his appointment, but we're getting worse and he's getting really desperate.

Has he said that?! The cheeky bastard. Maybe the club's social media personage could point Bruce in the direction of our John Terry thread. Show him exactly how 'euphoric' we were about his signing.

John Terry was a Steve Bruce loadsa money vanity signing. In a summer of austerity at Villa Park the last thing we needed was a 60k a week, 36 year old, Center back.

When we got rid of RDM I thought that the squad just needed a few tweaks to get us winning. We just wanted someone to make a decent forward line out of Ayew, Kodjia, Gestede, McCormack and Jack. With Green and RHM being gradually introduced. Bring Baker in for Mad Tom at the back, play Jedinak as a three with energy either side.

I look at it now and we're playing Gabby up front on his own. We've got a goal difference of -4 after three matches and the defence looks utterly disorganised. Our squad is full of players that haven't put in a single above average performance of for us.

I think there's still a decent team in there somewhere, but I think Bruce has left a much bigger mess than RDM did.

He'll use his charm to the press and no doubt old ex pros on stations like TS will back him and blame lack of funds etc. I can see him being given till mid Sept and by then we may scrape a couple of wins, but it'll only be papering over the cracks, which is what Kodjia did for him last season.

According to a Hull ST holder I know Elmo is very good in the air with a prolific leap. As a result Bruce's tactics at Hull were for the keeper and full backs to regularly launch it 60 yards in Elmo's direction at hope for the best.

Had the misfortune to catch a bit of Talkshite whilst driving back from Reading. That wanker Cundy and his sidekick laid into a Villa fan who said he wanted Bruce out. They were literally flabbergasted that anyone could even think such a thing.

What amazes me with Bruce is that as a self-appointed 'specialist' in the Championship, he or his expensively-assembled backroom team doesn't grasp that most managers/coaches earn thier money by reacting to game situations, which he never does.
For example in the Hull game , the first half looked good, Lansbury behind Hogan was getting forward, Gabby joining in making more players in the box, but in the second half thier manager changed things to nullify this. Bruce's reaction: Nothing
In the Cardiff game we were getting battered after a good early start. Bruce's reaction: Nothing
And last night another good early start, comfortable in possession, another missed chance, then Reading change formation and completely dominate the rest of the match.
Bruce's reaction: Nothing.
What is the point of two full backs on the bench?
We need players on the bench who may offer something different or change a game. Last night the young lad would have offered something different, simarly Davis or even McCormack.
Bruce's inability to affect the game in play is a major issue, and I can't see him changing now.
