I guess we judge a manager on
Team Selection
Tactics
Transfer activity
Game management

Can someone point out which of these Bruce has mastered with us?

His transfers havent all been terrible. I still want him gone mind but he has brought in some decent players amongst the dross.

So I give him 1/2 a point out of 4 for that.

I don't think the players are terrible but I think the approach to transfers has been shocking.  He's signed 5 central midfielders and a right winger but hasn't signed a left winger despite us not really having one in the squad, we had 3 right backs so he signed a couple more, he sold a 6'4 striker and replaced him with a 5'11 one nad then played long ball.  It's that complete lack of planning which makes the signings so shit.  When you add to that the fact that his tactics and formations show the same complete lack of planning it's very worrying.

The post match interview is astonishing.  Never seen anything like that. A defeated man after two fucking games and the whole 'been here 6 months thing' I mean, is he actually mental.

Not to mention the whole 'might have to change formations' quote,

None of those matter 'at the end of the day'.

As a manager you live or die on results.
To get results you need to have some competency in these areas.

Again, Samba up front in the first game of the season. That's tantamount to a cry for help.

Thinking about it, i'm giving Bruce too much stick. I blame the manager who was in charge from mid October to mid Feb.

No need for that type of comment John so please knock it off in future, and no need to rise to it Clampy.

apologies to all concerned

I never rated the one who took over from him,

I honestly cannot think of a single player he has signed who I am excited about. Taylor does his job. Possibly too early to judge a couple of others but most of the January players just haven't worked.  That said, I DO think better coaching would bring some of them out of their shells.

not to worry Clampy and Adds and Mr Smith will be on soon to reassure us things will turn out fine given a bit more time

How pathetic and juvenile but not surprising.
That's not very reassuring  :o

It's a shame the obssessed need reassuring.
Obsessed no! Consistent yes.
Your guy took a hell of a beating, please feel free to defend him though.

What do you mean "your guy"? He's the manager of OUR football club. It's massively cheap to even suggest anyone would be happy about this or should be ashamed for wanting him to succeed. We've all had year after year of shit and we are all tired of it. So give it a rest. It's pathetic.

Only one bloke can get us out of this with the existing squad.  MO'N.  Oh my goodness.  I'm ready for the pelters.

Good point, theres some willing to give Bruce time and some who have had enough of him, but we all want the best for Villa, to start pathetic point scoring is doing nobody any good.

I still think he'll be given a chance and will take it.
