Not confident of getting up this season at all with Bruce.
He also spent a lot of money in January and I do t think those signings improved us a great deal.

I'm with you. Only really Lansbury has been a consistent starter, and I think Hogan/Thor would have been too if it wasn't for injuries.

Bree and Hourihane haven't had enough game time in my opinion, with Bruce favouring average players like Hutton and Bacuna for some reason. Hourihane and Bree will be an excellent players, especially if the former is played in the correct position and given starts.

I'm.hoping we'll go up automatically, but it isn't going to be easy, as we all know.

He spent around £20m, but got £11m of that back in so he didn't really spend a lot.

As for the interview, he's saying how things are at the moment.

The Hogan fee will be in instalments so I think it's more balanced than that?

Must be me but I read that interview as being putting down excuses

"May have to sell players I don't want to as way of balancing the books"

You have enough players - pick the right team (No Hutton / Bacuna / Richards etc) and get what we have playing - more than enough

I voted no, as changing hasn't been our problem - it has been rotten from top to bottom - hope that has changed and players and we are due a season of smiles.
edit: can't get it to start at 84 seconds (1.25) - scroll to it :)

That's still 20 million and how you get the 20 million is almost irrelevant as it is from sales of assets already acquired.
The question isn't where does the money come from it is did we get good value for the money.
If you sell your car for £9k and buy a banger for £20k you have still wasted £20k, or is that to simple for you..

Gone a bit chilly here, anyway I think this has been the best transfer window for a very long time.
I would just love to see more moving the other way.
Hope that does not sound like I am giving Bruce too much credit:-)

Sounds like getting in excuses early to me too. He only talked about transfers. What about wages? He has loaded the club up again with relatively high earners without getting rid of fringe players on higher wages. A player on £30k a week over 3 seasons is almost the same as spending £5m on a player.

We have to reduce the average wage across the playing staff.

How does our wage bill compare to Spurs' these days? ;)

Apart from Terry and possibly Samba, who has he loaded up the club with on high wages?
