We still haven't cleansed enough as yet. Turf out Richards and Bacuna, Gabby. Wasters.

Richards has got two years left on his contract.

Dear God, that is depressing.

But Brucey says he is great about the place.

It is a term laden with H&V history.

I find it difficult to critique Bruce's style of play as I honestly don't think that he has one. His ethos appears to have been to make us more 'resilient' and hope that our attacking players create goals through individual brilliance. This has worked in patches, but also failed miserably equally as often.

My biggest concern with him as a tactician is that he always seems to lack the courage of his convictions. It's clear that he's wanted to play 3 at the back, for example, but at the first sign of teething problems he reverts to a back 4 and, as a result, we go back to square one as a team.

I'm still hopeful that he'll be able to get us up next season, but I would be inclined to immediately say thanks and then look elsewhere. Pulis' football may be eye-wateringly painful to watch, but it's effective enough for his teams to regularly survive in the Premiership, when better 'footballing' teams struggle to do so. I don't think that Bruce is anywhere near as good a planner or pragmatist as Pulis is, and his football's not much better ot watch either.

In the same way Big Ron had Stan Boardman on the coach before the 94 Cup Final.

His wife will be as pissed off as we were after most games when he comes home, looks her in the eye and says, "We go again" and off she goes for the suitcases.

O'Neill used pace as his weapon though, in turning the defence into attack.
Whereas Lambert used lack of pace as his weapon in turning attack into defence.

10 passes around the back 8, then back to Guzan to give it back to their centre half or centre forward.
