The real question is how important is promotion to the owners next season? Are we going to have to cut back if we don't go up?  They pulled the trigger pretty damm quick with RDM when Bruce's "guaranteed promotion" bus drove past. Now it's lost its way and is driving round mid-table obscurity i wonder if they regret the change? If RDM deserved the sack, then given the money and time Bruce has had, he does as well

Big difference is, Reading, Huddersfield and Fulham all have bloody good managers. We, on the other hand, have Steve Bruce.

1 promotion amongst them and that was a few years ago and as well all know, the game has moved on.

Very i would hope

Bearing in mind that in season 3 our parachute payment is 13 million. In the prem we were getting around 65 million.

Its shit or bust next season

Their coaching seems to suit the games as it is played today and with minimal resources.  The table never lies.  The past is the past.  The present and the future is all that matters in football.

The table doesn't lie which is why if we dialled it back 12 months and found ourselves supporting Huddersfield, people.on this board would be moaning that Wagnar hadn't improved us one bit and should be sacked for finishing 19th. But they didn't.

It's not about other clubs though.  It is about this Club and what managers could achieve with the resources available to them.

The difference being that Wagner had them transitioning into a nice style of play and was raising their fitness levels to adopt to his high pressing game so was worth sticking with, Bruce on the other hand.........

He did? You watch much of Huddersfield in 2015/16 from his appointment onwards?

It's not about other clubs when the argument doesn't suit you.

Yet despite small old Huddersfield having limited resources they sacked Chris Powell as they didn't think 19th was good enough, proving theyre not content to stick with a manger because they're small and poor. Yet they stuck with Wagnar, who showed little to no objective signs of improvement, they finished 19th afterall. They gave him the summer to take them on their pre season Bear Grylls adventures.

They've been found out lately mind, as an aside.

Edited for autocorrect insanity.

Perhaps they could see that he played good football and was worth sticking with?

What do you mean "when the argument doesn't suit me".  I care about what happens at this Club and what a manager can or cannot do at Villa.  We still have time to get the fundamentals right for the future if we are brave enough to tackle the issues.

So you didn't see them play at all then either. Just your post insinuated you were au fait with their improving style of play. I personally have no idea and it seems you don't either. What I do know is he takes over in December and they're 19th. The season ends and guess where they are.

He takes them off to the Swedish wildness in the summer for pre-season and starts double training sessions so presumably, that's when they start to press. Who knows, I'm guessing, like you. I've seen them twice and I think they're shit. 15 minutes, if that, over 180. But he got four points; such pragmatism isn't welcome here.

Were are you going with this? That Bruce is going to take us to the Amazonian rain forest for bonding sessions in the summer and when we come back the shit fest of this season, the wank football, the lack of tactics, will be a forgotten memory as we steam roller our way to promotion?
