That's what I thought, the dreaded vote of confidence.

Right well a result to to stop the rot, now we start playing a lot better and actually reflecting some of the talent we have.

He'll be gone in the summer.

He might think he is a tactical genius. Steve Bruce you are no where close. A team with a better target man would have buried us today.

Point (minimum) against Bristol and win against Rotherham and it will be difficult for the sides below to catch us.

Agree that he'll prob walk the plank in the summer. To be even contemplating the drop with that squad and the money invested is criminal.

I hoped that would happen the last time we strung a few ugly wins together. I don't that happens with a Steve Bruce team.

This is my concern, any upturn feels temporary because every game we've won is hanging on by the fingernails stuff.

The result today was much needed but it needs to be followed up with a couple more and then start to show signs of us actually playing like we deserve to win a game before I'll consider changing my opinion on Bruce.

There was a Chinese lad sitting directly behind Steve Round, Brian Little and Ian Taylor today.

Not sure if he was family or someone Xia trusts. I'm sure if he asks Round and possibly even Sir Brian, he'd be told that was an encouraging performance.

That comes within the sphere of job justification or outright arse covering.

If Xia has one of his own advisors there, he might get a different description of that performance.

Even if we do grind out enough points to stay up this year, if we've finished the season with one good performance under Bruce in 7/8 months, it would be hard to argue that we're on the sort of upward trajectory that will see us win 20+ football matches next season.

It was probably the bloke that the previous regime gave a job to when we were moving into China. The new owner has made him basically Wyness' no. 2.

We'll look silly if we go on a run of 7-8 unbeaten now but our first win in 2017 coming in the last weekend in February is still a long way from vindication that the manager is onto a winning formula.

You'd have to look up to the average Small Heath Alliance fan in the intelligence stakes to hold such a daft view point after one solitary win.

Playing like we apparently played today won't make me change my mind anytime soon.
