If you are thinking how long a manager has at the start of next season to avoid the sack then the manager is probably not the right one.

Quite. Why start a season with a manager you don't have 100% faith in?

Let's act now and give the new incumbent time to get into his stride before the new season starts.

Definitely not at this moment can't see it helping our battle to stay in the division.  Medium to long term not sure. A lot of hard thinking needs to happen in the summer and proper plans put into place

This mess is much more than one individual manager

Yep, if it comes to the stage where a change needs to be made it has to be the right choice and that is unlikely to happen if we do it in haste at this stage.

What happens if the new manager doesn't get into his stride and fails to get results?

I doubt people will be saying the new manager has got 6-12 games to avoid the sack. Which is what a lot are saying about Bruce. And they are the more supportive posts about him.

The main reason I think he could be removed is that we might get the new manager bounce with a new man in place. It's not guaranteed but it is usually the case. If we lose the next couple, a distinct possibility, he'll be jettisoned I reckon. Hopefully we are sizing up potential replacements already.

This stuff about us being too arrogant to knuckle down in the Championship is a red herring. Half the side have been playing in it for long enough. In my opinion there aren't enough units in the team to build around. It staggers me that despite being half of one of the best centre back partnerships in English football history, Bruce doesn 't see the value of settled pairs or trios to a successful side.

We are all frustrated but sacking Steve Bruce is not the answer right now. This season is maybe the season we had to have at the culmination of 6 years of rampant neglect and fuckwittery.

Fuck me, we'll be bankrupted just by managerial pay offs at this rate.

It's not the culmination, is the continuation. That's why he has to go.

With the exception of Brighton, virtually every club at the top of our division has got through loads of managers lately. And I'm quite sure Brighton would be sacking the manager if they were doing as badly as us.

Keep going until we get the right one.

Do they get paid as much as ours?

Isn't Bruce on a rolling contract so it won't cost that much to bin him if they club decided to?

For what it's worth I wouldn't sack Bruce at present, at the same time there's no way he's getting a free pass from me to potentially fuck up next season. It's up to him to prove he's the right man, he isn't currently doing that.

Probably not. I doubt their clubs have the same level of income as us and none of them have a similarly wealthy owner.
