Not that much? Really?

Yes. Hogan apart, he hasn't spent fortunes on the players he's brought in.

Relative to what's going in the PL, of course not. But in the Championship, even a few players at a couple of million a piece is something that the vast majority of clubs in the division can't manage. Then you add on that an expensive free transfer in Terry and probably an expensive loan in Snodgrass.

I think Bruce is performing below what is acceptable, however he hasn't spent that much. Most of the money was spent under RDM so blaming Bruce for an expensive squad is a tad harsh.

I've got so much manager envy at the moment. If we go up I hope Dr Tony just calls it quits with Bruce and we look elsewhere.

I imagine the wages agreed for Terry and Snodgrass exceeds the entire wages bill of Burton Albion and the bit about he has not spent much except on Hogan laughably disingenuous.

Well he hasn't has he, well not compared to what the previous two managers spent on players. McCormack and Tshibola's transfers for example came to 18m-ish and it's unlikely we're going to see them playing for us again anytime soon.

I'll only forgive his eye bleeding managerial style if he gets us up.

But I don't think he will. When we get a proper manager, we'll be fine.

It's still a 'yes' from me.

Having seen how much he spent on Hogan without knowing how to get the best out of him it's probably for the best that he isn't given any money to buy players.

Also, he actually paid money for Bjarnason who doesn't seem to be an actual footballer.

I think George Weah rang Steve Bruce and recommended him.

I can't help thinking about his comment about it 'only being the first 3 games' when we got off to a bad start as if they're not important in the long run. I do hope they don't cost us a promotion place.
Surely each and every game is important - I want to see a manger who sets out to try and win each and every game - pragmatically that is perhaps not possible but at least try.

Just the money he spent on Hogan to run around a bit at the end of matches is more than some teams in our division have spent on transfers in their entire history.
