The Fat Man can resist everything other than money. He will be back.

Lose to Barnsley and the board will probably act. Draw and I think he gets the Burton game. We need to be winning both to make up the shortfall on the two home games and establish a habit since Norwich of winning 3 out of every 6 games.

I reckon Alardyce is already lined up to replace him
just a hunch listening to him on sky the other night

it's not who i want but it would be an easy/lazy change to make
Yeah, him or Moyes.  Gulp.
I do hope not because if it's any of those two I am ok to stay with Bruce and muddle along.

I can't stand Sam but he'd be more effective than Bruce.

Allardyce is a cock but a step up in quality from Bruce.

Moyes no way. Been downhill for 4 years

I've no doubt Allardyce would do a job, probably get us into the payoffs. At least he is proven at fixing teams to get points quickly. I honestly think anyone else would be as much a gamble as Bruce or RDM. Moyes not a hope.

One thing for sure - this appointment is the last throw of the dice for promotion, otherwise its build from small beginnings.

Dr. Tony, as a man that comes from a land that is steeped in proverbs, here's one for ya:

Procrastination is the thief of time!

5 Games unbeaten now...... which surprised me.

Last night was poor and I haven't got time to create a list of all the stuff that was wrong.

I think the pressure has to come from the supporters because it seems his media pals are doing the usual rally round, ignoring his record here & urging us to plead blind faith.

I skipped last night, how was the atmosphere? Boos at half time? Anyone left in ground to booo at the end?

Saturday is the big game for him, if he sets up to not lose as normal away from home rather than trying to win he'll see true 'hysteria'

The general gist was he spoke to the Palace Chairman re their vacancy (wasn't offered the job) but " wasn't interested in a return to management at the moment/as it is not the right time - he's enjoying his time off so much".

Okay. Is that some kind of Allardyce doublespeak?

As things stand, I can see how Allardyce would be top of any hastily drawn-up list at VP. He has the sort of experience & track-record that would appeal to the likes of Wyness and - most importantly - Xia; and he might be tempted back into football if it's a big club who have resources & ambitions that differ from would-be Premier League relegation certainties. I personally think it would be a smart move to bring him in if he fancied the challenge - since his organisational skills & tactical nous would be a welcome improvement to the on-going, clueless rubbish served up by Bruce (& before c/o the equally hapless RDM). We could do one helluva lot worse IMO.

I can't watch or listen to his comments anymore, since Norwich he's taking quite a strange stance towards the supporters who pay good money and investment of time. He needs to have them onside but he seems to be against them at the moment.
He's alienating himself from the fans i think deliberately. His steadfast refusal to listen to his critics who say we're crying out for a more pro-active approach to games is stubbornly Wenger-esque. I'm starting to think he is planning for a nice long holiday somewhere exotic at Aston Villa's expense.

The myth of Allerdyce's track record drives me mad, he's painfully average: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_Allardyce#As_a_manager

From that if you look at the last 10 years his win record is 36% - how does that make him the safe pair of hands that's guaranteed to improve us that some seem to think?
