Dr Tony seems to be playing a very active part in things at the moment, which doesn't normally bode well for a manager.  Photos of him at the training ground, him talking of meeting the players to give them a pep talk etc, then saying after the game that he saw problems that he'd hoped had been fixed.

There's only one way this is going to end.

The Doctor will appoint himself as manager.

As long as he goes back in time and brings back Leela as his assistant I can live with that.

No, Wyness will bring in David Moyes.

Why do I get the feeling that Keith Wyness isn't the most imaginative man in the game?

No idea. Ask Steve Bruce.

Perhaps it could be that Wyness looks like a gone to seed all in wrestler wearing charity shop clothes.

It may be the first game of the season but Bruce has a lot less margin for error this season. To go up we really need to be winning our home games. We can't afford many games like on Saturday.

Let's wait and see how we get on. 2 points per game is the average we need and that can only occur if we rectify the away form.

We didn't react in time to quell their response second half after we should have sealed it in the first 45. We must learn from that.

It will be interesting to see how we approach away games. The increased tempo we played with first half and the speed we moved the game on was pleasing. We need to build on thst away from home with our counter attacking.

Reading's defending against QPR was diabolical, it would be great to stick together a couple of away wins on the bounce.

I agree. We need to hope Saturday's lapse was a one off. Unfortunately we have history.

We've been very functional at times, even in wins under Bruce. Saturday I thought we had a cutting edge first half, similar to Brighton.

We had a means of breaking them down with pace out wide making space centrally and they couldn't answer it. Hopefully we build on that aspect and learn to react quicker to a change in the game to stay on top.

Exactly. The standard approach last season was to try and nick a goal and then defend it. That's not good enough for Aston Villa in the top flight, let alone the 2nd division. If there's any sniff he's going to try that again, as soon as results start to go against him he'll be on borrowed time.

I was thinking more former darts legend Leighton Rees.
