I’d still say that many on this site were predicting a mid table finish, when we assumed we’d have Kodjia, grealish Jedinak available all season plus fewer injuries

I think we just need to reserve judgment until the end of the season

I think we just need to stop panicking whenever we drop points. We're not going to win every game.
I think the time to start panicking is nigh. We are fast entering the final lap and the four point gap is worrying. It can not be allowed to get bigger.

That’s the spirit

When you see where Cardiff are with much less money spent then you have to say he has underperformed.

See where Cardiff are come May before we decide if he's under performed.

Didn't Cardiff spend quite a bit in January? Madine was 6m and pretty sure they swopped Tomlin for another player and he cost them 3.5m a year ago.

And if we do finish below Cardiff he should go. He will be joining Beckham in the US in the very near future. You heard it here first!

I think he's simply giving an opinion and calling it as he sees it. What's wrong with worrying about a 4 point gap to a team that's doing better than we are, and grinding out wins?

I think 'the spirit' is that he wants us to go up automatically. It's quite clear.

We won seven in a row

We’ve since got a lot of short term injuries and picked up one point in two games against two of the most in form sides in the league

It’s clearly over the top to panic

There’s something to that Matt. As disappointing as the last two games have been, and you can criticize team selection etc, the truth is we had such great momentum and team chemistry after the rags game. To lose two highly influential players including one who has become critical to our tempo has clearly knocked us off our stride. And as you point out it didn’t help that we happened to be playing two of the most in form teams in the division.

That said, we still won 7 straight. There will still be immense confidence and belief in the club that we can get it going again. Bruce and co now just need to find a new system while we wait on players to return to action. It’s not a lost cause.

There is something to it but i think the problem this time round is in 2 parts.  The first is that we'd finally gotto the point where we weren't playing catchup, and then dropped back again instantly.  The second is that we were playing the best football we'd seen under Bruce by a long way, and then we dropped back to the very worst.  I think it's frustration rather than panic.

There is no doubt at all it is massively frustrating and it has to be for coaches and manager too. Whether they stumble upon something or have figured it out during the week, we simply have to get back winning ways today.

Or Cardiff have over performed.

Yes agreed. The only redemption is auto pro ahead of Cardiff.
