Are the younger players actually any good though?

Have we played them enough to know?

Well, many people earlier in the season (after the Wigan demolition, for example) thought that some were worth giving some gametime to. Of all of them, O'Hare does look pretty decent and RHM needs to either be given a chance to shine or to be moved on.

A few of them had their chance to impress in the Cup and blew it, it seems harsh but in our position we have little room to gamble.

Well it was Bruce who played Bree a right back he got at Centre half in the cup, why not try a young Centre half, Sulliman?

We won't find out if we don't play them.  Yesterday we had Elmohamady moved to right wing, Snodgrass to left wing, and Bjarnason into an attacking midfielder, and they were all extremely ineffective.  Of course any team would miss two of its best players, but for me it would be better to try to maintain the system as much as possible.

The only two youth he maybe couuld have picked yesterday were O'Hare or maybe RHM out wide. I do agree we should have tried to keep it as simple as possible though.

Green and Davis were coming in for a lot of criticism on here, some of it did seem over the top and unfair and Hepburn-Murphy never seems to be fit. I do think that Bruce is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't, if he'd thrown in whatever young players yesterday and the result had been similar, he'd be getting stick for playing them in such a game.

If only there was a facility to have players on standby to swap them in for other players if and when required.

It's a bit harsh to judge them on that, when it was a completely thrown together team made up of kids and senior players mostly not considered good enough for the first team.  There wasn't even a hint of it being a proper team or that there was any tactical cohesion at all.  Surely it would be better to gradually bring the kids through when we're doing well, with 20-30 min sub appearnces here and there?  A  bit like we did in Albrighton's first season when he'd come on for the likes of Young and Downing here and there?  It's got to be better than ramming the squad with defensive midfielders.

O Hare played well against Peterborough, particularly 1st half when he was playing in the Snoddy role (not his best). When he was subbed 2nd half Bruce was booed and some fans were singing "you don't know what you're doing". I would definitely have him as a sub ahead of Onomah anytime

That's a good point.  They may not be as good as we all think/hope they are, but I'd be surprised if they were as ineffective as Onomah has been.

The introduction of Onomah yesterday seemed to seriously unbalance the side.  I am not singling him out for blame per se but we looked so comfortable in the first half and quite the reverse in the second.

Your right to single him out Brian, the gy offers nothing and has a half arse approach that I thought we had got rid of at B6, regardless of what the terms are of his loan, god only knows if there are, if the application is not there he should not be played.

He's being played in the wrong position. Didn't he win the world cup as a holding midfielder?
