Good for them. Shame they have such a shitty, boring name.

Saw the video of blizzard game. They shouldn't wear Grey kit as it look hard to see.

I been to MLS match in September which I saw Philly Union V Montreal Impact. OK game. Had fun booing Drogba. Got The white away shirt as it look nice.

The Orlando Shit heads have 3 home games on the bounce and then 3 away games meaning I won't be able to get to a game when I'm there. Twats.

Last night: Atlanta 7-0 New England

https://www.atlutd.com/post/2017/09/13/atlanta-united-makes-history-7-0-rout-revolution

Isn't the fact New England are called the Revolution a contradiction of Billy Bragg's lyrics/sentiments?

Good. Hate their boring name but I'm generally a fan of expansion. A country the size of America (with added Canada) can easily accommodate thirty or so big clubs.

One problem is that we'll probably never see promotion and relegation btw MLS and the NASL/USL (2nd division).  Which is a shame.

And I also doubt that there will ever be an NASL/USL club awarded an MLS spot based on their drawing power/market share etc.

Hasn't the second tier already been used as a means of gauging interest when the likes of Vancouver, Seattle and Atlanta were awarded MLS places? Atlanta Silverbacks is a million times better name than Atlanta United, btw.

Yes & No.

Portland, Vancouver & Seattle had a good history of sopport in the old NASL.

Atlanta's expansion was based on some friendlies played here - one btw Mexico & Nigeria drew 80K. The Silverbacks' avg attendance is something like 4k.

Here's the MLS' current list of expansion candidates with the club's avg attendance (if they have a club in the NASL/USL):

Charlotte (1.6K)
Cincinnati (21K)
Detroit (4th Division club)
Indianapolis (8K)
Nashville (USL debut in 2018)
Phoenix (6K)
Raleigh/Durham (4K)
Sacramento (11K)
San Antonio (7K)
San Diego (NASL debut 2018)
St. Louis (4K)
Tampa/St. Petersburg (5K)

Cincinnati made it to the SF of the US (FA) Cup recently. If MLS adds two more clubs I reckon it'll be CIN plus the biggest TV market out of the rest (I think Miami also has a club ready to launch)
