I've just read that hourihane is more of a holding midfielder than id thought:I don’t think he’s this box-to-box midfielder that everyone touts him as. He just sits infront of the back four and breaks up play. He makes decisive passes and creates from deep.

He's scored one in four over the past two and a half seasons, which is a decent haul for a midfielder. In fact, in the last two seasons he's equalled or exceeded our top goalscorer (not hard to do, I'll admit).

In his own words in first interview he states he all rounder and gets involved in creative and goals. He can play holding but he ain't a simple deep lying playmaking he's action forward thinking player who will be getting into the box. And shooting from outside area 25 /30 yards out. I be interested to know where you read and if you could quote it Matt Collins .

It was in the Birmingham mail - I think from a local Barnsley journalist http://www.b*r*i*g*a*m*a*l.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/conor-hourihane-aston-villa-bagged-12511403
Bjarnason and Adomah have a similar track record in terms of playing a lot of games for lower level teams. That happens for a reason and on that basis I see them struggling to get into the team long term.Useful back up only.
