Thanks.  I wouldn't worry too much about giving away tactics, any half decent football manager will pick those up after watching half a game.

Great report.
Was there much big-picture stuff ie Tony's plans which Bruce has been privy to hearing about.

Not really no - it was very much about his own role and views.

.....and I thought that about tactics too, but you never know - I might have some amazing insight now that I have learned at the feet of the mighty Brucie!

I guess it has to be asked.  Did Bruce still appear in good shape. I think he did a great job in summer working on his fitness.

One of the first questions was about the kebab shop picture which appeared on Twitter and we had a bit of a laugh about that. He said it was a chicken shop!

I guess he has a little timber on the middle but not much and when you get to a certain age and that gets a bit harder to keep off as I know only too well! I did tell him he was failing at positive role modelling! He certainly isn't yet hitting anywhere near the levels of worn out hollow shell like trampdom that we have reduced most of our previous managers to!

Did you ask the really REALLY important questions though? Owls or gibbons? Red or brown sauce?

And why didn't Barry take that penalty?

Hi Amfy, Dr T has referred to various transfers as percentage. There still appears to be one around the 50% outstanding, not expecting a name but were any more alluded to?
Also, thanks for your superb writings relating to forums you have attended, very insightful and much appreciated.

I would love to know why we don't leave anybody up when defending a corner, if that is possible to say, as I am always going on about it?

Someone explained that once. It's to do with how you're more likely to be able to break quickly if you have a player who can run onto a clearance if they don't have to chase back for it and turn, as clearances are more likely to land near a player on the edge of the penalty area than the halfway line. Or something.

The counter argument for that is that having one player further up the field allows you to take control of the ball and release the runners rather than gamble that the ball will land at your players feet as that invariably means hoping the  oppositions attack has to break down.

Intrigued by this thought that gabby is key to the way he wants to play. And a bit worried

He does seem to like kodjia wide left, but then we were linked with expensive left wingers

So am a bit confused
Anyway guess we'll start to see over the next few games. Maybe he thinks we can play 442 with our new midfielders . .

Was no one from here at the fan forum meeting with SB the other day?

Would rather read about it from our own sources that the up his own arse MOMS or the even more self important HH on twitter.

Bit harsh buddy , I can't speak for MOMs as don't visit it but on the occasions I've met HH I've always found him to be a top bloke with Villa in his heart .

Fair enough we're all able to make our own judgements.  My own impression has always been he is a self important egotistical arsehole.  Did you ever read his 'Hodgson Report' on how to take the villa forward?  It was like something a 12 year old would have written.

He has a boat and fast cars and is considerably richer than you.
