Edmund retired hurt, no more Brits left. An useless effort.

Long way to go, but Mayer is a set up against Nadal; come on mate, you can do it.

Usually when Nadal is struggling he slows the game down to a snail's pace (the bloody cheat). He actually speeded up against Mayer.

Couldn't believe Del Potro beat Thiem, when I left the match he was 2 sets down and appeared so knackered, he looked as if he was about to collapse at anytime.

Federer next, that could be a cracker, unless he collapses, Del Potro that is not Roger.

Andy Murray looks as if he out now until the new year. No doubt he will be missed by us all.

All four US women won their Q/F's.

I can't believe Del Potro beat Federer. Let's hope he now beats Nadal.

Good to see, other than the Williams' sisters, 2 black women, Sloane Stephens and Madison Keys, in the final, of a sport, which is very much white dominated.

Stephens, following a foot injury, was out the game for about a year and fell to  934th in the rankings and was still as low as 83rd, when she entered the US Open. So to reach the final is some achievement.

Stephens annihilated Keys. Brilliant achievement to win a Slam from nowhere.

Great comeback from Nadal this year after all his injuries.
He has certainly taken advantage of injuries top other top players this year.

What a twat!
Quote
Nick Kyrgios was booed off court at the Shanghai Masters after going through with a threat to quit his match if he lost the first-set tie-break. The Australian lost the tie-break 7-5 to Steve Johnson soon after receiving a warning for smashing two balls out of court in frustration at a line call.  He was also given a point penalty for an audible obscenity in the first-round match.
At the same tournament last year he was fined for his behaviour and banned. The 13th seed was heard to say he would quit against Johnson if he lost the tie-break and, after his opponent served an ace on his first set point, Kyrgios walked over to shake hands.[\quote]
