All this goes to show we're pretty mediocre eh? Sorry, sleeping giant, massive club, sporting mammoth, but for Lerner, etc.

How does 14 compare against other clubs? And how many wins are we away from tipping things back the other way on each one? Sorry, I'm not expecting you to research a thesis on this but it's an interesting topic, someone may know.

If I remember correctly pre Arsene Wenger Villa had beaten Arsenal more times than they us, likewise It would be interesting to see Man Utd's record pre Ryan Giggs. A lot of the reasons so many teams have beaten us more than we them  (considering I believe we are sixth in the all time league table  ) can be put down to the fact that most didn't come into existence until the late years of our halcyon days so we never got to rack up our Ramsay years against them.

Our record against Man U was shite even before they were good. We'd regularly lose to them when they were non-entities and we were the best team around, at their ground, at least.

Pretty sure it's something like 2 wins at their place since 1930. And about 5 away wins in total against them.

3 wins since WW2. 1953, 1983 and 2010. I was there in 2010 and don't intend on returning until the 2030s when we're due our next win.

Man Citeh`s record against us home and away is unreal, going right back to the 70s we really do seem to have been their bitches, i remember talking to one of their lot in Tenerife going back to the early nineties and he said VP was one of the first fixtures they look for because they always bring loads and always win here, they even did us when we won the league.

No they didn't as we lost 8 times that season to Ipswich twice, Arsenal, Everton, Liverpool, Boro, Brighton and Spurs.

My mistake, it was the following season when we were already League Champions and about to become European Champions which actually makes it worse.
