FA Cup 3rd round
« on: December 03, 2016, 03:33:54 PM »
Who do you want?

Draw is on Monday at 7.10pm live on BBC2 and BT Sport and is being made by Steven Gerrard and Ian Wright. We are ball number 3.

I have very mixed feelings about this.  I'm torn 3 ways.  Part of me would like us to get knocked out in order to minimise the amount of games and concentrate on the league (and possible play offs).
Part of me would like to play a mid table prem side to use as a benchmark and part of me would like to see us guaranteed a pass into the 4th round in order to ensure the Bristol City game on the 28th is postponed, in order to allow our African players to play in the rearranged fixture.

I think ideally, Chelsea or Man City away and get knocked out, with Bristol City progressing would suit me.

Liverpool or Arsenal away - take 5 or 6,000 away from home to a side likely to play a weakened team.

I would never want to get knocked out of the FA Cup by choice. Whoever we get I'll hope we go for it.

Nor e usually but this season is different-We are already playing 8 more league games than last season.  What benefit will 3 extra FA Cup games make?  It will just mean more mid week matches, less recovery time and fixture pile ups.  Not ideal with a potential of play off games at the end of the season.

For me, the only thing that matters this season is getting out of the division, even if it means sacrificing a cup run.

I'd rather win the FA Cup than getting promoted.

Me too. What I'd really like is either a new ground or as Old Kodjia said, a mid-ranking Premier League club we can test ourselves against.

Don't really mind though I think getting someone like Arsenal could be bad as I think they would take the cup seriously as they might struggle to win any other trophy this season.

Coventry Home might be good.

Guess I would choose the Cup over promotion just because it has been so long, but then the league is your bread and butter and I am starting to enjoy the Championship.
