When the Championship calendar was released, did Leeds fixtures excite/worry/interest you? Any more so than, say, Derby or Forest?

Not really. Just another club from the 'lower' division.

If you could sum up Leeds United Football Club in 3 words, what would they be?

Believe they're big

If you could sum up Leeds United fans in 3 words, what would they be?

Unable to reason

What's your abiding memory of Leeds United FC?

Winning in 92 and then nearly going bust

What's your abiding memory of any Leeds fans you've encountered?

Not the nicest - even the nice ones.

I have friends up there who are big Leeds fans and since they were relegated I've been up there for a meet up and a game at Elland Rd nearly every season.
Like every club, including Villa and Newcastle, most of their fans seem to be great people but quite a few are arseholes.
I've been in with their fans at a couple of away games in the midlands in recent years (wolves & Cov) and found them to be no different to Villa fans. Drink a lot, sing a lot, laugh a lot, moan a lot and lose a lot!

Garry Monk has got them playing well at the moment and I wouldn't be surprised to see them turn over Newcastle.

They're a good club but in the wrong hands and sooner or later the owner will undermine the manager and it'll be back to square one again.

Why is a Newcastle fan interested in Villa fans opinion of Leeds?

That's the bit I'm struggling with too.  I can honestly say I've never considered asking a Reading fan what his view of Blackburn is!

They've only spent 50 years in the top flight haven't they? Small Heath level of tin pot is that.

On a par. One of the very few benefits of dropping down.  The idea is more appealing than the reality, though. If our earlier games against Derby and Forest are anything to go by. Would be far better playing that lot in the top flight- with infinitely better players in all those sides. As it should be.

Ridsdale's tropical fish

Acceptable intha 80's

1996 and 2000

Alreet. Don't seem to have the same need to be loved and praised like Toon fans, for example.

It was one of the fixtures that stood out.  Whatever recent years has brought, the club still has some standing, especially if like me you're of a certain age.

If you could sum up Leeds United Football Club in 3 words, what would they be?

Don Revie's Leeds

Forty Four Days

Peter Ridsdale's gamble

If you could sum up Leeds United fans in 3 words, what would they be?

Marching On Together

Historically deluded optimists

Manchester United haters

What's your abiding memory of Leeds United FC?

Two Wembley Cup Finals - the first one I ever watched on a colour television (the F.A. Cup in 1973) and the last one that ended with the Villa lifting a trophy (the Coca Cola Cup in 1996).

What's your abiding memory of any Leeds fans you've encountered?

Two spring immediately to mind.  Martin, who I shared a house with for a year as a student in the mid-80s. He spent virtually every penny he had on the Casual's holy trinity of designer clothes, train tickets and beer.  I don't know if he was an accurate stereotype of the era or atypical, but he came from a small town in North Yorkshire and his perfect weekend was a ruck in somewhere like Oxford or Plymouth.

The other is a close friend and professional colleague, who was your typical 70s glory-hunter school boy, choosing Leeds over his local also-rans (in his case, Bolton).  I can tell you this much, on more than occasion over the last couple of decades he's regretted not going to Burnden Park with his dad and brother.

Under Brian clough he was first manager to win with 2 different and also provincial clubs or something is the stat.  But he won eurpeam cup twice  that main reason hes considered  a great. Leeds I think wanted same glory but he didnt last there

I'll be perfectly honest with you, I lost a few years back in the 80's and it could have happened then you see, but I'm happy to take your word for it

my abiding memory is that Sunday game in 91(?) where we got stuffed 4-1 at home. Never seen so much trouble at VP. There must have been about 20k in the ground and around half was Leeds. Went off everywhere and we were awful. Not my best day out.

Damn skillz. For the 1st time I'm starting to doubt your credibility as a football sensei. Not only, as others have pointed out (as if it was needed?), the mighty Rams have never won the EC with or without Clough's help and he didn't steer Forest to their two greatest achievements until after he was jettisoned from LUFC.

Never again will I hang on to your every word.
