Increased prices
« on: November 07, 2016, 12:37:32 PM »
I'm used to buying tickets from seat wave. I'm normally used to paying a booking fee and £0.99 delivery handling charge, so for a £10 ticket I might pay £13.98. I'm buying tickets again after being out of the country for 2 months. I attempted to buy a Wigan ticket for the upcoming home match costing £12. Booking fee was £3.99 but delivery and handling was a ridiculous £5.99 making a £12 ticket £21.98. Can anyone please explain why this has changed and is so high? Cheers

I hate the online ticket agencies, it's a massive con. Some even charge to print your own tickets or to collect from the box office.

I'm noticed that the price of the Print at Home option with some agencies has now drifted very close to the postal option

Seatwave has been fine for me all along and viagogo before that. I even bought home tickets for this season before 19th September and didn't have to pay such high admin costs. Something has changed and using the word verified has suddenly become very expensive!!!

It was bad enough when they were charging 99p delivery to pick them up but this is diabolical.

As far as I believe seatwave is a partner of Aston Villa, not just any ticketing agency, so the current prices don't reflect well on the club. Such exorbitant handling/delivery charges may force me to stop attending as I only work part time

Seatwave is worse than Viagogoo I think.

Isn't Wigan a Cat C game?

Actual matchday prices will probably be cheaper than the Seatwave prices once you knock off all the delivery prices.

As I have to really watch my budget I use Seatwave quite a bit. That £5.99 is a piss take. As far as I know the club print off the tickets, and post them, so quite what the £9.98 fees are for on a £15 ticket is beyond me.

Well there you go.  Thanks for the detailed and frank explanation:

@chrisw333 There`s a booking and delivery fee for every ticket we have for sale on the website and how much would be is a business decission

The reply I got:

To be fair, I've bought all my tickets off Seatwave this season, even when you add the extra charges, its still cheaper than direct from the club
