Are we allowed to talk about...
« on: September 20, 2016, 10:38:23 PM »
...watching games online? As I live near London and have a two-year-old, I'm not able to attend too many matches at Villa Park these days. I've just been to two games (Huddersfield and Brentford) this season, both midweek evening games because that fits in better with being a daddy. I was worried that relegation to the Championship would mean missing out on watches our games online, however I've seen every game this season (except Bristol City away).

I'm not sure what the experience of streaming games live is like now, as I am busy entertaining my toddler at 3pm on a Saturday. My routine is to avoid the score/result and download the game to watch in the evening once my son has gone to bed. That has the added benefit of being an high-def experience and not having to endure a stream constantly dropping-out.

I'm unsure what the policy is on H&V for discussing downloading matches, so I won't name which website I use but it is free to use and the community there do an astonishing job of tracking down games (such as Ipswich v Aston Villa) and posting them up. They even break up the games into two files (first and second half) so you can watch the first whilst still downloading the second.

I'm sure a lot of posters on H&V live overseas, am curious as to how they are all managing on following Villa online this season..?

Update: please private message (PM) me if you want to know a bit more. I'm trying to reply to all the PMs I've received so far but there is a 20 PMs an hour policy here, so please bear with me!

PM me too please!!

Only games covered over here so far were Ipswich & Sheff Weds both away on Bein Sports.
I'm dying to watch a game at Villa Park and this Saturday would do very nicely.

Cheers IS!

If I am reading this right, these files are available after the game (or after each half?).  So they are recordings and not live streams.

I'd appreciate a PM as well, if you don't mind. No TV stations in Norway showing Championship games at all.

I'd bloody love a PM please. I use a couple of really decent quality streaming sites but getting out of bed at 3am in the hope that one of them will actually have a stream of a Championship game only to be disappointed and then having to try to get back to sleep lost it's novelty very quickly. Avoiding the score is easy for me so what you're talking about sounds ideal.
