No cover whatsoever for each of our rubbish left back options then. If we could get 7m or so for Kodjia in Jan we should be letting him go given his age, injuries and abysmal workrate

well it doesn't leave you many options if you are not going to play those three!

Man gets goals.
Are we hopeful smithy and coaching team can do a trick in developing his game ?
He's quite a player attacking wise and few championship defenders can live with him
I'm also in awe how good in the air he is with some quality headed finishes.
As sweet as his individual play is that may be the strongest factor in him being moved rather than age , injuries though I would agree to his lack of extent on work ethic !

I don't think it's truly wise to sell unless Dean smith struggles to get him playing more team role. I noted how bruce says  Kodjia drive him mad but can do the unexpected.

In an attacking minded team feel 'jimmy' would thrive. But if it's so focused on team play jimmy would lose out to others in a starting 11.

If only based here on now on Hogan being replacement despite his success at Brentford is risky in the expectations that Hogan will be firing goals just as he did before .

To suggest kodjia to be sold due to injuries we could suggest Hogan in that respect too.

Lots of people think Kodjia will miss out because Smith likes Hogan

But I think there's a pretty obvious role for him wide of a front three. He'd be playing narrower and higher than he had to for Bruce. Though we need a proper overlapping left back to make it work

I think Albert can be converted.

I've just finished reading Peter Withes autobiography and he mentions being invited to training by Steve Bruce (at this time he had offered the club his services for nothing to coach strikers), at which point he saw Kodjia and writes that 'with some decent coaching he could score over 20 a season easily'. Whether he realised he was having a dig at Bruce or not I think it speaks volumes. Albeit Peters opinion of his own qualities is not hiding under a bushel. I'm hoping the new regime can actually coach these players to be in the right areas at the right times.

Conversely, you would imagine Bruce would know what he was doing when it came to central defenders.

'Get yer head on it' and 'Row Z son' don't do much these days either.

He totally lost me at Burton away when we were hitting it long to RHM marked by 2 big centre halves and Bruce’s magical words were “Get hold of it Rusian”

I wonder if he’ll be sold as a decent asset in Jan in the hope that dean will get better off hogan to compliment Tammy ?

I started to wonder if JK will fit into Smith plans .

He could be the fall player despite his undoubted talents may not be able to close down and press from the front which what Smith demands

Not sure he did himself any favours on Saturday as he was nearly responsible for us conceding late on because he switched off. I’m sure he would have got a bollocking for that so let’s see how he responds

He was one of 5 outfield players to be below 80% in his passing .
2nd only to Abraham in being loose with the ball
66.7% successful passes in 17 or so minutes .

That said he has average of 82.5 or so but could be improved .
79.8 % passing accuracy away from home .

Though passing in general isn't jimmy thing haha man's a greedy goal scorer !

Ideally he needs to be upfront as the striker.

Smithy more or less admitted "in hindsight" he should have brought Kodjia and not Hogan on in match v Norwich at 1-0 up to replace injured Abraham.

That good honesty by Smith although to me it was patent obvious Jimmy was the idea striker more than Hogan in the situation and consider season so far.

I do hope he gets to grips with the movement within channels which smith wants as much as closing down players .

He's undoubted talents on ball and goal scoring but I wonder if smithy fancies him for his team style

Thought Kodj was terrible last night but I did see signs that he’s listening to Dean. I would persevere for now

I didn't think he was that bad last night. He tried too hard at times if anything though and made one or two wrong decisions but he was ok.
