And if we do go up at least we don't lose him To the African Nations Cup 2019 as it's been moved To the summer.

Any update on the JK injury? Is he due back in Sept?

Weeks not months apparently (I had the impression it was actually closer)

That's encouraging news, we appear so short and light weight up front with out him. Let's hope he comes back fully fit and fits the form of last season. Just read a quote from Redknapp saying you need 4 strikers to be realistic promotion contenders in the Championship. Whilst we may have 4 on paper I presume he means ones that score?

edit I never normally take any notice of what Harry Redknapp says

Bruce reckons 4 weeks for Kodjia to be match fit. McCormack reportedly about to join Sunderland on-loan only leaves Hogan and Gabby. What if one gets injured? SB has to sign a striker on-loan surely?

RHM!

But yes, I imagine he will try to get a striker and attacking midfielder on loan

Some of the better football we played last season, granted it was only around an hour of one game, came with Davis up front, I hope we give him a go if Kodjia and Hogan are out instead of buying another striker.

I like Davis and agree he should be on the bench and step him in if any of others are injured.

I imagine we'll see what some of the kids can do in the league cup game?

Davis took the game to Brighton in the last match of the season in a way Gabby and McCormack are unwilling or incapable of doing.  For forty five blissful minutes we had a skinny, energetic, determined Villa attacker mixing it with the opposition defence.  Jack Grealish fitted perfectly into the spaces Davis created.  Steve Bruce ignores the young players at his disposal at his peril.
