He's going to be fantastic, fact.

I know this because he has a sell on clause, which of course we will all be moaning about next season. It's the way Villa works

Welcome. A lot of money though for a bloke the same age and with a near identical record to Rudy when we signed him. On the massive plus side, it's not £20m on Hernandez!

Quoted £14 million for him a few weeks back (which seemed ludicrous then).

Signed for £17 million at the end of the transfer window.  Canny.

Do we ever really know the truth in the figures bandied about though?

£11m up front rising to £15m on the beeb.

Note this from Bristol City: Due to the high profile nature and speculation surrounding the deal we have chosen to disclose the fee. We will receive a total of £11m guaranteed, which has the potential to rise to £15m. In addition, we have retained a sell-on clause for a percentage of any future profit.

He's big, fast and strong. It's exactly what we need. We now have two prolific goalscorers at this level. Most sides would love to have what we have now. We should much further up the table than we are had we just been able to find the net. Hopefully we have a couple more signings still to come especially in midfield and defence but we should now have what we need as an attacking force.

£11m with more if we go up for Kodjia is far more preferable than £20m for Hernandez.

A million times better.

It's the release clause I'd be worried about.

Given they scored around 45 goals between them in The Championship last season I would say I'm more than happy with McCormack and Kodjia as our new striking options

We have now bought the 2nd and 4th top scorers from last seasons Championship, with numbers 1 and 3 being with promoted clubs. That's a pretty decent statement. A midfielder / playmaker now and I thinks we have done very well from where we were.
