Think he has scored a few headers. Ipswich away and Brentford at home in the last minute last season, at least from memory. Not sure I would call it one of his main strengths though.

Think the biggest issue with Kodjia, certainly from my recollection, is his link up play and that he takes a lot of touches and time to move the ball on. It’s probably what makes him more likely to score some of the individual goals he scores (similar to his first against Brentford last year) but it’s not particularly conducive to quick team interplay
And his lack of energy and closing down? - prerequisites in the Premier League.

He has recently fractured a cheek bone in training I think

.

Me neither. He looked decent to me considering his lack of game time lately. Surprised he didn’t get a bit more recognition in the threads. Touch looked ok, plenty of direct running.

I think if it had been Davis people would be viewing the performance very differently. Age is part of it, granted ... but I also think kodjia (for reasons I can’t fathom) in one of those players who has to do a lot more than others to get fans’ recognition.

That's because you weren't at the post match meal. Kod scoffed the lot.

Considering how long he has been out i thought he looked very good, some morons behind me slagging him off within seconds of him being on.

I hope JK gets a run out on Saturday either with or without Wesley - both options would be worth a look in my opinion.

with a better squad Kodjia should be getting no where near a Villa shirt
He’s a bang average championship level player and lower championship at that

Smith knows this that’s why his contract won’t renewed reportedly
to be fair in the starting line up the other night there were only maybe a couple of players that were premier league quality and even they have got a bit to prove yet

we are at the start of a squad rebuild capable of competing in this league the likes of Kodjia, Taylor, Elmo, Chester, Lansbury are not good enough going forward however good a servants they have been we will go down if we have to rely on them

he can't go unless someone comes in, surely? He looked good to me on Tuesday.

All 5 of those players just presided over a 5-0 win in a League Cup quarter-final. Regardless of who the opposition was, they are clearly useful to have around.

But you're right. Let's just bleed squad players, who needs 'em.
