He'll move on in the summer. Injuries killed him but when you consider both him and Ross Mc cost us the best part of £30m, all we have to show is one season of goals between them.

You're just picking and choosing players to suit your argument.

It would be much better to include Hogan in that comparison - then you could say that they've cost us the best part of £45m, and we'd have one season of goals between them!   ;) ::)

I'd much rather focus on McCormack and Hogan, if they'd ever offered a spell like Kodjia did for most of the first season he was here we'd probably be a premier league club right now. What's happened with Kodjia since is a massive disappointment for everyone but at least he has, for a while, shown that we weren't completely mugged.

He came to us as a central striker who who was quick, inventive and could score from anywhere. Then he suffers a very serious injury, works his ass off to get back to fitness yet is brought back in too soon and gets hurt again. In the meantime Bruce goes out and gets Tammy. So then to accommodate a one striker system he’s been punted out to the wing, a system maintained by Smith. He’s not at all a winger and over the season he’s got more and more frustrated. And frankly after the injuries he’s not the same player.

I sympathize with Kodjia. He was a simply brilliant footballer. Through injury, tactical changes and the form of Tammy he’s seen his Villa career shot and what was a rising status with the Ivory Coast (some of those goals were great too) come to a halt. He wants out. I absolutely get it so he can get back to being a starting CF somewhere for the last 2 or 3 years of his career.

He looked like he enjoyed playing with Keinan in that spell last season before getting injured against the rags. That was a shame, there looked to be an instant understanding between them.

There is a difference between being frustrated and being unprofessional.

The abysmal lack of effort displayed by Kodjia without the ball when playing in that wide role falls firmly into the latter camp. The last day, time and again when Hutton had the ball, Kodjia effectively hid from making himself available for the pass.

Bolasie was the exact same but was got rid of. We need to do the same with Kodjia at the earliest opportunity.

I think he’s an alright player

scored us a lot of goals when he first came but there’s  a lot of average players scored a lot of goals in this league
and that’s what I think he is even before he got injured

tricky, selfish, no team player, can produce a touch of magic but makes the wrong decisions to often

Play him instead of Albert on Saturday

His shot led to our second goal as well on Saturday

Didn't we sign him from Bristol City?  Surely a point to prove, as long as he works his bollocks off like he did tonight. In ahead of Adomah for me too.

Much better from him, if he can keep up that sort of performance we're loffing.

It seems he has moved past the  Bruce/Bolassie effect. He could prove to be a very useful asset in our remaining games.

In the closing minutes he chased down a lost cause into the keepers hands and then positively sprinted back to the half way line to face up the goal kick. Superb, he really put a shift in today which is not something we’ve always been able to say.

Sounds like Kodjia has a rib injury? And wasn't risked. DS said he's having it scanned. Hopefully not serious as Tammy had to go off. These injuries are so annoying! Kodjia must've got injured in training, which is frustrating and almost unnecessary.

He definitely got it in the Rotherham Game. You could see him holding then
