We seem to have gone round the houses with this one  ;D Seriously though it's taken a while to decide on one, don't really know what his job will entail but remember him working under Moyes as an Assistant at Everton and Manyoo so not a bad CV in that respect.

Steve Round - previously assistant manager to Moyes, an old school manager with old school thinking.

and now Steve Round - our technical director, involved in shaping the footballing side of our club, and involved in deciding who our next manager is.

what qualifies him to be operating at such a lofty level now? Is he really the right man for the job? Seemingly we are going for an old school manager with old school thinking, so with Round involved in the decision, that's no real surprise

Is he really in the right position now or has he been promoted above his capabilities? I know what I suspect but may be proved wrong, hopefully I will be

Ian Atkins not too highly thought of by Everton fans on the web, could be sour grapes. They point to his remit being a certain area of Europe of which they've bought one player from the last 4 years and he was crap.

They're probably saying he never would have found Idrissa Gana Gueye and that yes please we'll have Paddy Reilly if he advised on signings like that but then reject him when they discover he used to be in the employ of the Redshite across Stanley Park. The ficklest of the fickle them Bluenoses.

Ian Atkins looks like another "let's bring in another mate from a previous club". Seems Everton had already got his replacement, so perhaps a call from Villa was very fortunate

I can see both sides there but let's at least see the expectedness of such people coming in and that they know how they work.  It quite commonplace to bring the ones they know. Wonder what will happen to Mr names Kevin bond in the mix up. If Phil Neville is coming in to that's another Everton link

Nah, just a dig at the bloke who got a job off his old boss and is now employing all his old mates.
