Where is restricted view at Villa? I've probably sat in every stand and, since the pillars came down from the old Trinity, I can't remember every having an impeded vision of the dross on offer.

That corner bit by the Big Screen I've always thought looks pretty dodgy to sit in, not much segregation either although notice this season it's been sectioned off.

Edit; SHA only got 2.5k tickets for the Carling cup tie last season when they were entitled to more so Police couldn't really give us 4k.

There's a small block of seats in L1 that are restricted view because of the Witton Lane stand, but we seem to have stopped selling them. I assume the away fan restricted view are all upper tier and like I mentioned i've noticed in the UT are because of barriers in the way.

We haven't played up there in my lifetime. Preston will sell out no bother.

I've noticed we don't sell tickets for the corner of the Witton lower where it joins the north any more. There is a barrier there now.

We thought our record at Old Trafford was bad, we haven't won a league game at Preston for 44 years.

I sat in a restricted view seat in P1 once (think that's the one, the block nearest the North Stand, top tier of the Witton).

It was designated thus because of the railings at the front of the seating block - they're about eye height when you sit down. At least they were for me, the view was pretty well blocked, but I could at least mitigate it by standing up, slouching whatever.

The worst view I've had anywhere was at Charlton the last time they were in the top flight (Barry sent off, Bent scored for them, IIRC). Right behind a fucking huge pillar.

When The Ballpark in Arlington (the stadium of the Texas Rangers baseball team) was built in the early 90s, they deliberately including a section with pillars obstructing the view from some seats.

Even though there was absolutely no architectural/engineering reason to have pillars, they thought that it added character to the stadium by harking back to ballparks of the past.

Actually, it just means that there's seats obstructed views when there doesn't need to be. Stupid idea

Wish I was going to that but in London for the NFL that weekend. Why couldn't it have clashed with some meh trip like Reading?

I remember this well, my only visit to Deepdale, it was worth celebrating though - a 1-0 win with an 87th minute Willie Anderson header !

Much better that it 'clashes' with some utter rubbish like NFL I reckon.  It's all about opinions!

Notes from our away fan consultation group for upcoming away games:

Brighton (Friday night on Sky) - 2000-3000 depending on sales, £25

Leeds - 3000, £32

Norwich - 2500, £35. Reduced to £30 by our club as it's a Tuesday night just before Christmas. The club suggested they reduce QPR by £5 but the group said it would be better for Norwich.

QPR - 2500, £39 and £34

The decision for Blues to give us just 2000 tickets was decided at the start of the season, they'll also receive 2000 at VP. The decision was made by both clubs to reduce trouble, it wasn't a police decision but the police supported it (shocker).
