A friend went, RHM was superb apparently, team in general looked good but there was a clear stand out.

The Tamworth manager s called RHM a freak of nature. Very excited about this one. Not sure if he's first team ready for now but I imagine he will be at some stage this season

The dates of Villa U23 side’s Premier League International Cup fixtures have been confirmed.

We are in Group E, joining Norwich City as well as Scottish side Celtic and Spain’s Valencia.

We will travel to Norfolk and host Valencia and Celtic.

The competition sees 12 of England’s best academy sides compete against 12 of the top development squads in the rest of Europe.

The competition is split into six groups of four clubs.

Premier League International Cup 2016/17 groups

Group A: Derby County, Sunderland, PSV Eindhoven, SL Benfica.
Group B: Manchester United, Middlesbrough, AC Sparta Prague, Villarreal CF.
Group C: Leicester City, Liverpool, FC Porto, VfL Wolfsburg.
Group D: Chelsea, Swansea City, GNK Dinamo Zagreb, Feyenoord.
Group E: Aston Villa, Norwich City, Celtic, Valencia.

Yes you can park just inside the gates and the Academy Team play on the fenced off pitch 50 yards away with the Under 16s playing across the way.

I went on Saturday and we drew 0-0 with Reading.  The U23s drew 1-1 at Brighton last night.

Just in case anyone is looking for something to occupy them on bank holiday Monday  afternoon and wasn't aware of this:

Villa’s U23s take on Newcastle United’s youngsters at Villa Park on Bank Holiday Monday and you could be there to cheer them on! 

Kick-off in the Premier League 2 fixture on August 29 is 3pm. 

Season ticket holders can use their season card to gain access to the Trinity Road Stand.

Prices for non-season ticket holders are £2 [adults] and £1 [juniors].

Tickets for the game can be purchased from the Trinity Road Kiosk (opposite the William McGregor statue) from 1.30pm on the day.

The Villa Village ticket office will be open from 11am-3pm on Bank Holiday Monday both on the telephones and counter for all other sales.
