Not sure about Southgate. Didn't he say that Sven gave a team talk that was more John Major than Winston Churchill? Right back at you Gareth. I'm still not convinced Big Sam had to lose his job. I think they could have ridden out that storm like they did with Venables  business dealings and Sven with the fake sheik and the real Ulrikaka. Problem is who would be the outstanding candidate? I hate to say it but I always thought  Redknapp would make a decent England manager.

They really are. There are flashes of decent football but it's all dulled out by numerous errors all over the place. The 3 above being the biggest culprits.

TBF, Stones was being over rated when still at Everton when everyone was blaming Martinez for his lack of defending abilities rather then realising that maybe the player is not all that.

Stones has been quite a lucky player in that his mistakes haven't been amplified because he has pace to get back and he has been surrounded by decent defenders who help him out.

Stones is crap. He can't help being overpromoted - he plays for a moneyed club and so has to be picked by default at international level. See also Smalling, Chris.

Southgate is fine he's already shown more backbone than most to ditch Rooney.
