A blow yes but you cant shift players when nobody wants them
Someone will want, at the right price. Take the financial hit and move on.

Last year he made mistakes certainly but Gollini was so unpredictable. You never knew if he was coming for a cross going to drop it etc so must have been difficult being a defender with him there.
Bruce obviously does not fancy him but with an older John Terry then Samba and in a push Jedinak we needed to keep one. I would have kept Nathan but we got £4m for his hence why he went.

He got sent off but he has played so little both reserves and first team in the last year he would need time to get to speed. I am not sure most thought he was a bad signing when we got him as he had an ok year before was a good captain etc.

Wasn't he out injured most of the season before we bought him?

And to think I didn't want him joining the blose, in case he was any good!

He seems a decent bloke, but not moving him and McCormack on over the summer was a big blow.

There was interest in those pair wasn't there?

I accept that Baker going and no replacement coming in meant we had to keep Elphick in all reality.

Sunderland wanted him, McCoymack and Hutton.

The only issue being it was £4.50 for all three

He seems to have disappeared from the squads with Micah

A big reason why we now keep so many clean sheets.

Samba is ahead of him in the pecking order so we don't new two CBs on the bench.

Would imagine Elphick's attitude is fine, it's just his performances last season were not of the standard expected. Simple as that.

Himself and Micah, what lives of privilege. And under contract for another 18 months each.

My mate met Elphick when the baggies played Bournemouth. My mate's nephew was named in the Bournemouth squad and he got tickets with the away fans and found himself sitting four seats from Elphick. The fans were all over him and he was extremely generous with his time, selfies etc. When he spoke to him he was an extremely nice bloke, pleasant and eloquent. He said that Bruce just didn't rate him, (no surprise), and was waiting for offers, which obviously haven't arrived.

Poor Tommy.  Came with a great reputation at this level.  Another one who just couldn’t cope with the enigma that is Aston Villa.  Bit of a difference playing in front of 11,000 at Dean Court and Villa Park.

At the time RDM was probably trying to sign some proper players, unlike the clowns he inherited such as Lescott.

I don't know him, but I get the impression he's a decent lad, just not good enough to play for us.
