I regard him as walking proof of the need to incorporate psychological evaluation in the fitness tests of incoming players. Every muscle, bone, ligament, sinew and corpuscle of them is examined in the most minute detail but nobody ever thinks to assess their brain.
For the worst five year stretch in our recent history, Charles can say "I was there".
Tongue in cheek, the only thing i ever saw Richardson do of note at Villa Park, was score that cracking goal for Fulham which i am sure was probably the major factor along with him being a free transfer that tempted Lambert to sigh him

Psychological, as well as general intelligence assessment should be standard practice. The amount of thick-as-whale-spunk players - and, to be fair, owners - we've had at Villa Park in recent years would win all of Britain's Village Idiot contests for the next thousand years.

I don't think we needed a full psychological assessment to discover he's a mardy arse. We could've asked Sigmund Kinnear.

You'd think the new management would want to take a look at some of them e.g Kinsella and Donacien before sanctioning their release?kinsella was never going to be good enough, never got near our shittest team in god knows how many years and ended up on loan at luton and kiddysame as the goalkeeper whos name i cant spell
