*What happens if the U21 team progress and get drawn against their parent team?

I can see arguments for and against, i will hold judgement on it and see how it pans out.

Edit (* i just realised that won't happen)

The only good news for me is that we don't seem to be in it. Given some of the Championship clubs in it, I can only assume we turned it down. If so, fair play.

Hope the Final is between the under-21 sides of Stoke and Reading and played in front of a Wembley crowd of three hundred.

And since when we're Norwich, Peterborough, Northampton, Coventry and West Bromwich further South than Cheltenham?

An example of something that gets my goat: Pogba's agent is due to earn £25m from his forthcoming transfer.

Twenty five fecking million!

Years ago I remember hearing the ex QPR player Simon Barker ( I think ) he was an agent through the PFA and he said all players needed was a lawyer to look over contracts, the PFA could do the rest. The way these Vampire agents have sucked money out of the game is shocking, they are virtually scouts now too. In years to come a FIFA type report will come out about all the dodgy deals from the past. New TV deal is going in the pockets of these fuckers.

I'm reminded of when our kids won the youth Champions lge, or whatever it was called and the powers that be changed the rules so that it would be contested only by the youth sides in the senior competition. Professional football stinks.

It's not as bad as I expected. No guaranteed place for teams based on "historical performance" just a tweak of the seeding system.

Still shite, obviously, but not the move towards a closed shop which I anticipated.

Places for "historical performance" sounds like a great idea

And I look forward to Red Star Belgrade, Nottingham Forest and KV Mechelen taking their rightful place in the Champions League when it comes to pass.

Over a billion pounds in the transfer window, it really has become the greed league.
