My outstanding memory of him will always be the annual Villa memorial service which Jane & I attended with Mike Jeffries following the sad & sudden passing of Mike's dad.

For some reason someone allowed Jack to think it was a good idea for hm to sing 'Unforgettable'.

He was lucky that most of his audience were too sad about their recent bereavements to find it as funny as it actually was.

I have tears in my eyes just remembering that! I seem to remember he sang another song which I had to leave the room for....

Best of luck Jack.

Built up a connection with jack after meeting him a few times at vp. Was a really helpful and generous bloke. Invited my daughter and I into press box couple of times sitting with him and Tony Morley once then pat heard. Great experience seeing all the press live at work during a game, thanks jack great memories , all the best

Guess who's back.....

Looks like we've re-appointed him to be main commentator/presenter for our online content this season given he's doing the game today.

Hahaha...I was going to ask on here the other day after watching the highlights of the Minnesota game on AVTV. The commentator's voice seemed familiar - and as soon as Lansbury's goal made him quip "Henri hoovers up the chance to score" I thought "Christ, it can't be..." but then in the comments section on YouTube someone referred to the commentator under a different name.

Did we release Jack when we got relegated?  He must be demanding the type of money only PL status can afford!

At least he's actually commentating on what's actually going on, on the pitch, instead of ruminating about what he's having for dinner later!  That's his usual standard.

At least a couple of times, the daft bastard has asked a question, realised he doesn't have a co-commentator, then answered himself.

At one point he said "Aston Villa is back where it belongs", which is that dumbed-down American version of Engerlish. Tsk!

It’s murder listening to him. The biggest consolation is that we won’t have to listen to him much this season being back in the PL.

I thought he was ok too. I'd sooner listen to him than cunting Motson or fucking Pearce.

I’ll bow to your superior knowledge BE but I thought when dealing with single entities such as Aston Villa that one should you the singular ‘is’ rather tha ‘are’. It has always confused me as it reads as a tad clunky but certainly my company always uses the singular.
