Worst train journey home *ever*. I'll be giving this one a miss next season.

Was it the one that went one way for a while then went into reverse for the rest of the journey?

They used to go out of their way to piss away fans off,
When it was pay at the gate they had one turn style open thousands trying to get in, pathetic
I and loads of others didn't get in till half time

The first time I  went there was the season they got promoted and won the league.  I think we lost 2-0.  Locked in the ground at the end, this was after a few smoke bombs had been lobbed into our section.  We never seem to play well there, the police are horrible and the ground even the modern version is a tip.  Not my  favourite away.

First time I went to Forest was a night game in the League Cup in the 72-73 season. I think Villa won from memory. Horrible violent night and got a bit of a chasing from the Trent Enders. We went back a week or so later for the league game. Very different! Loads of Villa there and a seem to recallpolice horses in the corner keeping the fans apart. I think we won that too or was it a draw?

One of the longer walks from the special.  They used to lock you up in the compound on the station before walking  you to the ground.  Never enjoyed driving there either as  it is a jog from the motorway.

Only been the once, in late 1995. It finished 1-1, Steve Stone scored a spectacular equaliser for them really late on. I remember Savo missing a couple of sitters in front of the away fans and one fan next to me constantly shouting "Durkin the gherkin" at the ref.

Forest was my first real away game. A drab 0-0 in 1996/97.

We were locked in the compound & not let out to the game but sent straight back to Brum one year , maybe been 89/90.

I think the Saturday league game was my first away game. Bricks lobbed from across the road as we emerged from the station was the prelude to continuing sniping on the walk to the ground. I remember the way we were penned into the away section and held there throughout and after the game. 1-1 draw?

Yes. You pull into Derby and then go back out the same way, which makes your heart sink. There's also only about three carriages which means you're lucky to get a seat. Plenty of stops and not necessarily all at train stations.

If we can get a cheap overnight somewhere we may drive up.

Yeah that Stone goal was a bit special in fact Yorke's goal was a great strike too although the form he was in at the time you'd expect him to take it.  Both clubs were really flying high at the time.
