How about we keep "the foreigners" and ditch the home nations dross instead?

Ditch the Villa fans. Richards, Agbonlahor, Lescott & Grealish.

I don't think the players who we think are championship quality are actually that good.
How can you improve a players concentration and ability not to keep making fuck-ups, regardless of the division it'll keep happening.
All of a sudden Baker won't stop making mistakes and being reckless.
We've just got to hope that the opposition strikers aren't as clinical in the lower league.

Would not be surprised to see Jed Steer as our keeper next season. He is our player and has been on loan at Huddersfield so has Championship experience

My Huddersfield mates have been unenthusiastic, they say he's 'done ok'.

'Done ok' sounds bloody brilliant after this season.

Hutton, for all his effort going forward, delivers next to nothing.

Defensively, whilst not alone, he's a total liability.

and is very slow at getting back when we lose the ball, he doesn't exactly bust a gut to get back

Go get Joe Lolley from Huddersfield. Redditch born, lifelong Villa fan and very promising young player to boot. Tore it up with Kidderminster for half a season before they sold him to the Terriers for a deal potentially worth £1.5 million. Had some injuries in his first season, and Chris Powell had him warming the bench a lot of the time, but the new Huddersfield Manager gave him an extended run in the side this season and he prospered. The Terriers fans love him and call him their little Messi. Creates and can score a goal too. I know the Lolley family and Joe would walk over broken glass to come to the Villa. Still watches them from the Holte when he gets the odd chance.

I'm not sure I want us to sign any more Villa fans!

I wouldn't mind a few Ian Taylors though

We need some experience in there. Players that have played at that level before, and know how to get out of it.
Players like Newcastle had when they last went down. Barton, Kevin Nolan, Wayne Routledge, Alan Smith, Guthrie.
Not world beaters, but just know-how and a bit of leadership.

Yep.  The signing of Steve Sims when we were last in the second tier springs to mind.  A couple of players who can organise and be leaders.

I would just rather the team be filled with good players.

Yep, he never busts a gut to get back in position, just a gentle jog and then usually fails to pick up the man anyway.   Quite why Hutton gets exonerated by some because "at least he tries" is beyond me because he clearly doesn't, and he is technically abysmal too.
