Sob on the Tyne Part 2
« on: April 27, 2016, 08:54:43 PM »
Appears the Geordies are so desperate to rub our noses in it they're snapping up Holte End tickets from resale sites. I know many of us would rather eat our own limbs than frequent Villa Park at the moment but we can't let these bastards takeover our ground.  >:(

How quaint. Another set of Thousands in the Holte End away fans. Perhaps they can sit with the Small Heath fans that have been there since we beat them in the League Cup.

I'm torn on if I want them to stay up or not. If they come down they will share the burden of the bulk of the TV games, if they stay up we might have a better chance of getting the players we'd otherwise compete for. But on the whole, I couldn't give a monkeys about Newcastle United and find this new found rivalry more than a bit contrived.

There were quite a few Cov fans on the Holte. Until the pubs turned out.

The thing I don't get about this whole Newcastle hating us because of that one game thing is this: do they really think that if they'd been playing a different team that the reaction would have been different? Did they swallow that guff in the 90s of being 'everyone's second-favourite team'?

Big club goes down, other supporters laugh. That's how it works. I haven't had a single thought, or seen a single post on here, that's resentful of other fans for taking the piss out of us. It's how the game works.

The whole thing's weird.

I want them to stay up. We don't need them hindering any promotion push.

Not going to the match as I have just had a letter saying I have an operation at Good Hope Hospital on that particular Sunday. I shall be receiving plastic surgery on my conk and having a prosthetic leg fitted as part of Jeremy Hunts new world class weekend NHS.

I think Newcastle really want to celebrate relegation with us. I think we will beat them at Villa Park for one more win before leaving Premier league, and if they are very lucky they can also celebrate with Sunderland as well.
