Dilemma (Utd Away)
« on: April 10, 2016, 04:39:30 PM »
Here's the dilemma. I live I Lancashire and work in Manchester. I've been offered two tickets for the game next week. The problem is that it means sitting with the Yanited fans. Under normal circumstances I would go, keep my head down and grin and bare it when the inevitable defeat occurs. However, this season I don't think I can face sitting amongst the glory hunters whilst we get annihilated and relegated to boot. To go or not to go? That is the question.

Well in a few years time, when we do a Leicester and win the Premier League, you can brag that you were there when we got relegated.

I'd flog the tickets. The only reason to go is to boo.

Saying that, I doubt you would upset the plastics booing the away side.

I couldn't do it. I wanted Sunderland to win today just to deny the glory hunting wankers their chance to rub it in.

I've done it a few times at Old Trafford. Never seen us win while I was in the United end - don't think I ever saw us score. The only time I was  ever "sussed" was when Sherringham missed a penalty in one game  and I jumped up and cheered instinctively. Never enjoyed it, always ended up hating the wannabe mancs from Cheshire and Lancashire and the southern, rootless reds. And there was always the Brummie Reds flag that was unfurled during Villa games. We made a Salford Villa flag to wind them up.

You're either Villa or you ain't.
It's just our turn to take the medicine.
So go .

Riiccooo! You won't grin and bear it. It'll be your worst nightmare sitting amongst that lot on the day we're officially relegated. Do anything but go to Old Trafford.

I couldn't sit with them while they take the piss, sending us down etc.

We're always dreadful against them normally, will be even worse this year. I wouldn't want to go and sit amongst their fans.

One consolation; Norwich only need to draw at home to Sunderland and we'll be down before the game kicks off anyway.

I think we will win one more game but it will be either at Old Trafford or Newcastle home game.

In normal seasons I couldn't think of a less enjoyable away trip than going to Old Trafford. Second would be Man. City.

So I honestly wouldn't go in your situation.

I too am going to be 'behind enemy lines' next week . Got offered a ticket going up with a mate I haven't seen for a while .

I was there on 9th May 1987 - in our end - when we were last relegated , so going next week will give it some symmetry .

I was 18 then and ready to conquer the world.

I am 47 today - and struggle to conquer the sofa.

I sat amongst them for the cup game in O'Neill's first season and that was bad enough.  After today's showing though, I quite fancy us to get a point.
