Welcome Oscar Borg ?
« on: March 24, 2016, 12:22:20 AM »
Bit early for a Villa Summer signing,by a long way !.... I wonder if Remi had a say in this ( or not?).
According to the Hammers Fanzine ( KUMB) ,the 18 year-old left back, who can also operate further
forward was," perhaps unfairly, likened to Gareth Bale in his playing style ".......Godzvilla!

Borg has been allowed to leave the Hammers and join Aston Villa
By SIMON JONES FOR THE DAILY MAIL
Aston Villa have moved to sign one-time West Ham United prospect Oscar Borg.
The 18-year-old left-back had been tipped for a bright future and had trials with Manchester United, playing in the Milk Cup for them in 2014. They discussed a potential move but could not agree terms over compensation.
Despite plenty of early promise, though, Borg has failed to continue his development and West Ham have agreed to let him go. He has agreed a two and a half year contract with Villa.
Borg joined West Ham when he was spotted by their scouts playing an Under 13 match for AFC Wimbledon and joined them aged 12.
At 15 he already earned a called up to West Ham's Under 21 side and signed a two-year scholarship contract with them last September which runs until June 2016.
Borg is yet to represent a national team at youth level but his early promise sparked a battle between England and Turkey for his services.
The 17-year-old was born and grew up in Surrey but alerted the Turkish Football Association to his eligibility when they discovered his grandmother was born in Istanbul.

If he's that good I hope he assimilates a few of the dodgier members of the squad and turns them into galacticos.
That would be cool.

Welcome Oscar to the legitimate Claret and Blue.  Let me nip the puns in the bud.  Don't be a Bambi on ice, Borg.

Found this on that site where all the top clubs look for their talent.  The soundtrack is crap so turn the sound down.

Appears to be physically well built',plenty of skill, an excellent prospect in 2014. So what happened in the last two years then?  Liverpool gave another full back a free transfer some years ago. His name was John Gidman. Perhaps we may see a repeat of that situation if he settles in.

Let's hope Borg is Elite

Seriously though, did Garde appoint him? It's not clear who has the final say on this, assuming he does join us
