I think it says more about the dearth of spinners in this country rather than his outstanding qualities.

However, as a 25 year old leg spinner I'd say he still has plenty of time to learn his craft.

Well maybe. But I see him as no different to the many that we have tried over the years. One or two good balls, then a full toss, then a waist high full toss, a long hop, and a googly. I always expect to see ENgland leg-spinners 0 or 1 -162 over 37 overs.

WARWICKSHIRE COUNTY CRICKET CLUB HAS APPOINTED ITS FORMER COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP-WINNING CAPTAIN JIM TROUGHTON AS FIRST TEAM COACH

Troughton (37) has been Assistant Coach at the club since retiring from playing in 2014 and will oversee all Warwickshire and Birmingham Bears men's first team matters and will be supported in this new role by Club Captain Ian Bell, Bowling Coach Alan Richardson and Batting & Second Team Coach Tony Frost as part of a new structure for the club.

Reading ESPN Cricinfo, Giles has one year left at Lancs. Can't help but feel it's a temporary appointment until Giles comes back. Just hope our ageing side can survive.

If Giles does come in it will be as Director of Cricket. Troughton will be his number two in the same way that Dougie Brown was first team coach under Giles before he left for the England ODI job.

Lancashire clearly don't want to lose Giles and seem to be playing hard ball with the Bears.

I hope he's not too 'close' to the current team and ends up mates instead of leading and managing.
Not convinced.

Virat Kohli has said he'd like to play CC prior to their tour in 2018. Do we have room to have assuming Jeet signs again? I know it's forward thinking, but imagine the Indian support if we had him for a few months.
