The support
« on: December 31, 2015, 12:46:10 PM »
Ok so we haven't won at home in a club record length of time. We haven't won at all for a club record length of time. We are statistically the worst side ppg in the entire league for the past 5 and a half years. We are relegated. Despite all this we are still averaging 36,000 and the players, coaches and board have barely come in for any abuse.

I think that in recognition for what has been served up, next season there should be some sort of reduction  for season ticket holders, something like 20% reduction if you've held your ticket for 5 years, 10% reduction if you've had one this season and renew. I know it would cost the club important revenue, especially seeing as we only have parachute payments next year but there does need to be some kind of recognition for the loyal fans who have stuck behind the club during one of it's worst periods in its history.

They should do something but they won't. They know we will be there regardless, so will continue to assume we are all simple (may have a point) and continue to take the piss.

We'll play more home games "if" we go down so I doubt if they'll be a price reduction.

It would be a nice gesture from them if they recognised the backing the multi millionaires have received over the past half a decade, it would probably equate to less that a quarter of Gabbys annual salary.

Agreed but not sure it'll hapen. To think we've the worst home record of any professional club in England over the last 4 seasons and not won at home at all this season to still average 36k is absolutely fantastic.

For better or for worse we dont complain, we turn up. Anyone anywhere that honestly thinks we're fickle is a fucking idiot.

And yet the players are apparently nervous about playing in front of their own fans!! There should be a reduction in prices, despite there being more games to watch.  We are having to go from steak to corn beef, I am happy to pay good money for steak but not for corn beef.

based on how much of our revenue comes from st sales i have thought for years that we should charge no more than 400 quid for a st, get 30k plus st holders and get close to capacity week in week out

like everything else to do with the club that ship has long since sailed

A few of my mates aren't renewing next year, but using other friends' ST refs to buy away season tickets instead and just enjoy the travels. They may have the right idea.

The club should be laying on free coaches for all away games as of right now to give us a fighting chancing of picking up as many points as possible on our travels - but it isn't.  I just don't get what kind of thinking goes on behind the scenes.  At the moment there is a sense of disconnect between the marketing/ticketing people and the support.

I think you'll find that the marketing/commercial departments are in a state of some disarray. Without venturing too far down the road of ITK and such like, I think the phrase relating rats & sinking ships is rather apt.

Would imagine the same arrogance that has been applied to our Premier League status would also apply to the attitude to fans in the Championship.

With the hole in the revenue stream from not being in the Prem & very little in the way of playing assets to sell the chances of any generosity towards the fans must be fairly slim.

This is something I just don't get

You buy your ticket/season ticket to watch the Villa win lose or draw . Why should the club reimburse people becouse were pretty shit atm.?
