A repeat of the Boxing Day scoreline 40 years ago would make it a very happy xmas.

(for younger fans that was newly-promoted Villa 4 FA Cup holders West Ham 1, Dennis Mortimer's debut in front of 51,000 fans)
my first game.

same again please.

A depressing 2-1 defeat - Ayew to score a late consolation for us.

We never win on Boxing Day!

Well it's must win, as I seem to say every week, but really we need to win our next three games.

At least Gabby won't be playing, he'll still be eating his Christmas dinner. As for the game itself I think our best bet is to keep it tight for 85 mins then start lumping it into the mixer and hope someone gets on the end of one. I've done my coaching badges you know.

Fack the fackers. Villa win in surprisingly routine fashion.

For the first time this season I am confident of a Villa win.

2-0, or possibly 2-1.

Let's win this one. We're slowly getting there...which we would have a lot quicker had Sherwood not messed around with the team week in and week out.
Gestede and Ayew up top would be nice...

A scrappy but lucky 9-0 victory to the Villa.

Busy time of year? One or two sherries too many at the Congregation's Dwelling?

I'm optimistic for this one.  I feel that we will take our stronger showing in the second half against Newcastle and screw the screwers.

The old memory banks might be struggling, but didn't we beat West Ham 4-0 when Billy McNeill was in charge?

Too little too late then as well - so I'm going 4-0 to us in tribute to the 86/87 squad.
